Bryan Arbeit is a Senior Associate at Wigdor LLP. Mr. Arbeit counsels and litigates in the areas of labor and employment law, civil rights law, appellate practice, and complex class and collective actions. Mr. Arbeit concentrates his practice in counseling and litigating discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation claims, as well as counseling executives on employment, severance and non-compete agreements. He has represented clients from a wide array of industries, including financial services, advertising, technology, health care, hospitality services and many others. Mr. Arbeit has significant experience litigating claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights of 1964, the New York State and New York City Human Rights Law, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), the New York Labor Law and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (“ERISA”).
Experience
Mr. Arbeit has litigated a wide variety of cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts, including before the New York Court of Appeals. Mr. Arbeit is also well-versed in representing clients before alternative dispute resolution forums such as the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and has successfully mediated cases resulting in substantial out-of-court, confidential settlements totaling in the tens of millions of dollars.
Prior to joining Wigdor LLP, Mr. Arbeit worked for several years at an employment law and civil rights firm in New York. During this time he successfully represented clients in various employment and civil rights matters.
Awards
Mr. Arbeit has been selected to the New York Metro Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
During law school, Mr. Arbeit received the Barbara A. Lukeman Award for Excellence and Service as a member of the Moot Court Board. Upon graduation, Mr. Arbeit received the Award for Excellence in Labor and Employment Courses, the Award for Excellence in Torts Courses and the Gina Maria Escarce Memorial Award for his contribution to the learning and understanding of difficult legal concepts.

Education
Mr. Arbeit received his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law, graduating first in his class of more than three hundred students. During law school, Mr. Arbeit was an intern for the Honorable Joseph F. Bianco, Eastern District of New York, a summer associate at a national securities litigation firm, and an advocate with the Unemployment Action Center where he represented over twenty workers in unemployment insurance benefit administrative appeals. Mr. Arbeit also served as an articles editor on the Hofstra Law Review and a member of the Hofstra Moot Court Board. Mr. Arbeit received his B.A. from the University of Florida, cum laude, where he was a member of the Florida Blue Key, the oldest and most prestigious leadership honorary in the state of Florida.
