Mr. William Carr is a Partner with McOmber McOmber & Luber, P.C. in the firm’s Marlton, New Jersey office. He focuses his practice in the areas of employment law, class actions, business disputes, and business law. Mr. Carr has handled all aspects of litigation and has successfully mediated, arbitrated, and tried numerous cases.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Carr was a partner at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP located in Philadelphia. For more than fifteen years, Mr. Carr focused his practice on complex civil litigation, business disputes, white-collar matters, and product liability cases in state and federal courts throughout the country. Mr. Carr represented a range of clients from Fortune 500 and closely held companies to individual owners, directors, managers, and other employees. For example, Mr. Carr defended a global oil company in an underlying product liability lawsuit brought in Pennsylvania state court arising out of serious injuries sustained by an employee using machinery at a chemical plant and sued in a related indemnification action in federal court in New York. Mr. Carr also represented a global pharmaceutical company in mass-tort litigations brought in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and St. Louis, Missouri, deriving from injuries allegedly sustained by consumers who ingested prescription medicines. In addition, Mr. Carr has conducted internal investigations to address allegations of workplace violations or corporate misconduct, including sexual misconduct, insider training, and accounting irregularities.
Education, Training, and Experience
Mr. Carr is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a J.D. law degree, with honors, from Rutgers School of Law, Camden, where he served as constitutional law editor of the Rutgers Law Journal and as a teaching assistant for the First Year Research and Writing program. He also holds an M.B.A. degree, with high honors, from Rutgers School of Business. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Carr was a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Joseph H. Rodriguez, a celebrated judge who has sat on the federal bench in Camden, N.J., for more than 35 years. Following his federal clerkship, Mr. Carr worked at one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the United States.
