also known as Peter Siachos, Peter G. Siachos
Peter G. Siachos is an experienced trial lawyer and a partner in Gordon & Rees' New Jersey, New York, and South Carolina offices. Having tried nearly 50 cases to conclusion, Mr. Siachos routinely handles matters nationwide before federal and state trial and appellate courts, administrative and regulatory agencies, and alternative dispute resolution panels. As a member of the Commercial Litigation, Franchise, Product Liability, Heath Care, Hospitality, and Transportation practice groups, he represents a diverse group of major corporations, franchisors, closely-held businesses, partnerships, and individuals in multiple jurisdictions in a wide range of complex commercial disputes. Mr. Siachos is licensed in numerous jurisdictions (New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, District of Columbia, and South Carolina) and utilizes creative dispositive motions, well-crafted trial strategies, and focused and effective appeals to regularly assist his clients with their litigation needs nationwide.
Representative ExperienceCommercial Litigation
Mr. Siachos has considerable experience handling litigations through trial and appeal involving general commercial litigation claims, including contract disputes, restrictive covenants, shareholder disputes, prosecution and defense of copyrights and trademarks, product liability claims, breach of warranty claims, construction defects, real estate disputes, privacy rights and defamation actions, directors and officers claims, errors and omissions claims, and premises liability claims. Mr. Siachos also regularly defends businesses and individuals in employment matters, including claims regarding anti-competition, retaliation, discrimination, and harassment.
Franchise Law
Mr. Siachos devotes a significant portion of his practice to the representation of franchisors. He has extensive experience litigating and enforcing franchise agreement terminations, non-competition restrictions, forum selection clauses, indemnification provisions, and liquidated damages provisions. Mr. Siachos has had repeated success in enjoining trademark infringement on behalf of his franchisor clients, and has obtained injunctive relief against franchisees in a number of jurisdictions, which ranged from enforcement of simple franchise agreement provisions to forcibly shutting down franchise locations. He also has litigated and successfully defended against claims asserted against franchisors by single franchisees, groups of franchisees, franchisee associations, suppliers to the franchise system, and area developers.
Banking/Financial Institution
Mr. Siachos has fourteen years of experience representing financial institutions, including multinational and regional banks, credit unions, mortgage lenders and financial services companies. His practice includes the handling of matters related to lender liability, including the defense of FDCPA, FCRA, TILA, and RESPA claims, commercial collections, and other matters related to lender’s rights.
Class Action Defense Including Consumer Protection Statutes
Mr. Siachos routinely defends class action litigations including, nationwide and state class claims arising under consumer protection statutes and false advertising or unfair competition statutes, including alleged violations of the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act), FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act), and FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act).
Transportation Claims
Mr. Siachos has extensive experience defending trucking and transportation companies in complex litigation, including freight and property claims, commercial litigation, driver citations, and most importantly, large loss injury and death claims. He understands the importance of rapid response to catastrophic incidents, early case evaluation, the economics of transportation litigation, and, if necessary, the need to aggressively defend cases through trial.
Mr. Siachos served as law clerk to South Carolina Governor James H. Hodges from 1999 to 2000. Mr. Siachos served on appointment by Governor Hodges and Governor Mark Sanford as South Carolina Commissioner for National and Community Service from 2000 to 2005, and was responsible for the administration and allocation of funds to state and federal-funded community service projects in South Carolina.
In 1997, Mr. Siachos was awarded the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, the highest undergraduate award at the University of South Carolina.
In 2013 Mr. Siachos was named as one of the 2013 New Leaders of the Bar, a recognition by the New Jersey Law Journal of attorneys under the age of 40 who have developed practice niches, amassed strong books of business, demonstrated leadership qualities, shown expertise in litigation or transactional work, and committed themselves to volunteer work.

Peter is very capable and efficient. He handled my matter quickly, and the outcome was much better than I expected.
"Peter is a skilled attorney who advocates vigorously for his clients while also maintaining a good working relationship with opposing counsel."
"Peter is a hard-working, energetic and savvy attorney who fights for his clients but doesn't lose sight of what is important. I had the pleasure of working with him on several matters including high-level litigation involving business disputes to UCC Sales Order claims. Since leaving the Gordon & Rees, I continue to use his assistance on several high-level matters and value his feedback. Further, he is well-spoken and a solid writer, both traits needed in this profession. More than anything, he is a very personable guy with southern charm. I highly recommend him to both companies and high net worth individuals looking for a litigator."
"I met Peter when he was opposing counsel on a case we had together. Peter was extremely diligent with the litigation of the case. Numerous times during the case I remarked to my co-workers that if I had been on the other side of the case, I'd want him to represent me. Notwithstanding the fact the case became hotly contested at times, Peter remainder a true professional throughout and we were able to bring it to an amicable resolution. I'd recommend Peter to anyone seeking aggressive and professional representation."
"Despite his involvement in a traumatic incident involving a tractor in my childhood, I enthusiastically endorse Peter and encourage any potential client to consider seeking his counsel. He's always been known as a particularly bright & capable person, and he's an excellent lawyer and a good guy."
"Having personally litigated matters against Peter; I can attest to the fact that he is a highly intelligent and skilled attorney who remains committed to his clients’ interests during all phases of litigation. His advocacy skills, coupled with his client first approach to the practice of law have cemented his reputation as a formidable adversary who obtains positive results on behalf of his clients. Most importantly however, Peter’s skills as an aggressive litigator and trial attorney are rivaled only by his integrity."
"Peter is an aggressive and dedicated advocate, but also has the ability to be diplomatic and charming. I would not hesitate to hire Peter to represent me in any litigation matter."
