Biography
James de Stefano ia an associate at Rubenstein, Meyerson, Fox, Mancinelli,Conte & Bern, P.A., He concentrates his practice on civil litigation, tenancy matters, commercial and residential real estate as well as foreclosures.
Since being admitted to practice law in 2011, James has first-chaired over thirty (30) bench trials in the Superior Court, Special Civil Part. He has appeared in almost every county within New Jersey and has regularly appeared in Passaic, Bergen, Essex and Hudson County. Moreover, in May 2013, he attended the Houston Family Law Trial Institute at the South Texas College of Law reinforcing his trial skills. He currently serves on the Montclair State Paralegal Advisory Board.
A niche area wherein James focuses is residential foreclosure matters. He has helped numerous families in New Jersey keep their homes and/or avoid deficiency judgments by working with lenders in reaching settlement through loan modifications, short sales and/or by transferring a deed in lieu of foreclosure.
Recently, James has began litigating cases for Hurricane Sandy clients. The Sandy Recovery Division has been requesting the return of the grants awarded to Sandy Victims in the amount of $160,. James has been litigating and defending these clients before the Office of Administrative Law.
James attended Montclair State, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in History with minors in both Pre-Law and Paralegal Studies. He graduated Cum Laude as well as earning the Highest GPA in the Paralegal Studies minor. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law. While earning his legal degree, James interned at the Bergen County Justice Center for the Honorable Lisa Perez Friscia and the late Honorable Deborah Ustas. James is admitted to the Bars of the State of New Jersey and the District Court of New Jersey.
