Biography
Michael J. Cicala earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2003. Upon completion of Seton Hall, Mr. Cicala served a judicial clerkship with Daniel P. Mecca, P.J.S.C. in Bergen County for the 2003 - 2004 court year. Mr. Cicala soon joined the boutique firm of Sodini and Spina, primarily representing banking clients. He then proceeded to Wilson Elser in Newark, continuing to represent commercial clients in all aspects of their business.
After a number of years and seeking to diversify his practice, Mr. Cicala started his own firm. In starting that practice, Mr. Cicala sought to represent clients on a wider variety of issues and give each client the individual attention that is lacking at larger firms. Mr. Cicala has gained experience in litigating all aspects of family matters, commercial litigation, landlord / tenant issues, municipal court, and traffic matters. He has also developed experience in transactional work, including residential real estate closings and estate planning.
Mr. Cicala is a member of the Warren County Bar Association and is currently an adjunct professor of Legal Studies at Sussex County Community College.

Do not hire
Just took my money and did nothing to defend me. Did not return my calls in time and asked me to consent to the opposing side at trial. Asked me to get police report instead of requesting it himself. Misled me. Waste money and time. Just used me. I regret hiring him.

Got rid of a bad tenant

He was hired for a divorce. He never returns phone calls. Its been over a year to this date he has done nothing. taking him to small claims court. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!

Has difficulty in communicating with his clients

Replied last July 18, 2012This client had unreasonable expectations from the beginning of his litigation, which I attempted to explain to him numerous times during our attorney-client relationship. I filed all the required pleadings on his behalf and obtained a judgment in his favor. At that time, he decided he no longer needed my services in an attempt to avoid the contingent fee which would have been due based on my services. Under his own direction, the judgment was vacated and he failed to appear in court to answer the trial call. His matter was dismissed after he proceeded pro se. I believe this review demonstrates his full inability to understand his own litigation regardless of how many times it was explained to him.
