Before I share my experience, I want to emphasize that filling out immigration forms with ChatGPT intelligently is far better than hiring an expensive attorney and waiting weeks for them to complete what you can do correctly in an hour. Now, regarding my experience with Attorney Abeer Amin: it was... deeply disappointing and entirely contrary to the glowing reviews here. I hired Attorney Amin to handle my wife’s 221(g) refusal from the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan. Until that point, I had managed the process myself. My only mistake was uploading my joint sponsor’s tax return instead of the tax transcript, which caused a temporary refusal. To avoid further delays, I decided to hire an attorney. Ironically, Attorney Amin created exactly what I was trying to avoid: more delays and errors. She uploaded our files on the CEAC website but never hit “submit”, meaning the embassy never received them. We waited for months, thinking the case was in motion when it wasn’t. I was the one who discovered this, not her. Her form-filling errors were shocking: she entered the wrong date of birth for the joint sponsor, listed his income incorrectly, left required fields blank, only included one of his employers instead of both, and forgot to upload the second W-2. She even marked “N/A” where she should have totaled the household income, and in another place, totaled the numbers incorrectly. The W-2 I provided was perfectly clear, yet the version she uploaded became unreadable, likely due to careless compression. She never noticed. We received repeated refusals from the embassy, but instead of checking for mistakes, Attorney Amin kept submitting the same flawed I-864, all while blaming the embassy for being “slow” or “unprofessional.” Had she simply rechecked her own work, this would have been resolved long ago. Eventually, after I sent multiple emails, a consular officer called my wife to inform her that the joint sponsor had been rejected due to all the irregularities in the I-864. When I told Attorney Amin this, she refused to take responsibility and then stopped responding entirely. Before disappearing, her few replies seemed ChatGPT-generated, not genuine communication. This was especially frustrating given that she charged nearly three times the standard attorney fee for a simple I-864 submission... and still failed to follow through. I finally took matters into my own hands. Using ChatGPT, I correctly completed a new I-864 with a new joint sponsor in about an hour. Once I submitted it myself, the embassy quickly resumed processing, and alhamdulillah, my wife is now here. Attorney Amin never followed up, never apologized, and never showed any professional courtesy. I never disrespected her, yet she completely abandoned the case after making mistake after mistake. I don’t usually write negative reviews, but this one is necessary. Many of us are desperate to reunite with our families. When we pay for legal help, we expect accuracy, attention, and integrity l, not negligence. This entire ordeal was inexcusable and very avoidable. The immigration process is stressful enough; no one should suffer further because an attorney failed to review her own work. My sincere advice: use ChatGPT wisely, double check your forms, and avoid hiring attorneys who overcharge and underperform or perform against you, as in this case.
