My wife and I have been putting off filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy for the past couple years, we were afraid of the process itself and that it would ruin our credit. When it got to the point where we didn't answer phone calls or even check the mail for days because creditors were all over us we fi...nally agreed that we couldn't hold off any longer and that the simple fact was our credit was already ruined and it wasn't going to get better. We interviewed a few attorneys and Susan put us at ease immediately regarding the process. It is now 16 months since my bankruptcy hearing. I have been able to save money in the past year. I have had an unsecured credit card for eight months. And, I just got a new car on my own credit. Every day I am working toward a higher credit score. I feel as if anything is possible now, when just two short years ago, I felt as if there was no end in sight, and I just kept digging myself in deeper and deeper. I owe Ms. Long a debt of gratitude. (Pun intended.) My only regret is not doing this sooner.
