Stamford Robbery, Larceny and Assault Case Dismissed

When I was wrongly arrested for robbery, larceny and assault in Stamford I thought my life and my career in finance was over. I did a ton of research and found Mark on this website, it was the best decision I made. I was in shambles when I first met with Mark and his team, he did a great job expla...ining to me what the process was going to be and what the possible outcomes could be. He got me to calm down and trust him and that is not easy for someone like me who needs to be in control. Mark was able to have all the charges dismissed by the court, in fact he went back to court to fight for an early dismissal and convinced the judge to knock off 6 months of remaining time. Mark and his team have great knowledge of the criminal justice system and how to navigate through it. In addition to having the charges dismissed Mark was able to have the pesky Stamford Advocate police blotter removed from Google searches as part of his internet scrubbing service. You can’t miss with Mark.

invaluable legal help for College students/parents

College students often make immature mistakes. And an overly zealous Connecticut legal system can exacerbate minor mistakes to an extreme most wouldn't believe possible. Fortunately for my daughter, Mark Sherman and his team were able to bring sanity and reality to Stamford Traffic Court! They made ...it clear that my daughters simple parking incident (no damage documented) was not, in fact, a felony "Hit and Run" and evasion of responsibility as accused. Despite pushback from the prosecutor, and complications from additional traffic tickets for texting at a UConn traffic stop, all serious charges were recently dismissed. Luckily, I had hired Mark immediately after charges were brought and enabled him and his team to effectively sort out the issues and navigate the system. I shudder to think what could've happened to her and her pristine record had I not brought Mark Sherman in to enforce justice! Her application to medical school surely would have been rejected.

Make the call!

Our son made 2 bad decisions that brought reality in clear focus fast. Back to back drug charges had the potential to spiral into something more serious before we hired Mark & Christine Gertsch. Our initial consult w/Mark was reassuring and evident that he had the experience and confidence to get t...he charges dismissed. Christine was relentless in her pursuit and kept us fully informed throughout. It was a long year but the results were as promised. Thank you Mark & Christine!

Mark Sherman

I would highly recommend the law of Mark Sherman. After being arrested for DV charges, I hired an attorney who did very little. Long story short, my 1st lawyer wanted me to take a plea deal with a felony conviction because he did not know the law and was only looking to end the case ASAP for his be...nefit, not mine. At this point, I knew I needed to find a new attorney who was willing to understand the case and work hard for me and my family. After meeting with Mark, I knew I had the attorney I needed and hired him to start working on the case with his team due to his knowledge of the law and his passion to represent me. I distinctly recall his last words when I left our first meeting….”even if you don’t hire me, don’t take the plea…the law allows you a different course of action which will not negatively impact your current and future life”. I could feel in my gut Mark had my best intentions in mind! Right from the start, I had consistent communication, recommendations of professionals to help with the case, detailed information on the law, and was in the “know” of the game-plan from start to finish. During this time, I was then arrested again for a DUI…which of course, I hired Mark to handle the new charges. Once again, Mark and his team (specifically Christine Gertsch) handled the case extremely professionally, especially knowing the laws and how this new arrest would impact the DV charges. At this time, Mark and his team laid out an even more specific game-plan for me to follow and to seek professional help. Unlike my original lawyer, Mark and/or team members would contact me with updates and requesting specific information from other professionals to present to the judge at each court date which showed my commitment and professional opinions emphasizing I deserved a positive outcome in both cases. It was evident to me that Mark knew exactly what positive steps I needed to show the court in order to have a second chance Recently after months of follow-up with the prosecutors and my personal commitment to his recommendations, the judge presiding over the case granted me specific programs which Mark knew from day 1 were possible with the charges. The programs allow me to learn from my mistakes while progressing to my future court date in May 2018 to have all the charges dismissed. With my past and current career I am constantly asked to provide recommendations for people and their specific craft, and most of the time I nicely reply “I would rather not”. But, in this case…I give Mark Sherman and his firm my highest recommendation. If you are seeking a lawyer and a team to work for you...contact Mark.

Second to None

I was lucky enough to hire attorney Mark Sherman to handle my domestic violence case. After finding myself in an unfortunate situation, my dad read about Mark online, after searching the internet all night to get me the best legal defense possible. After reading about Mark beating a capital murder ch...arge for one of his previous clients and also obtaining the largest SEC whistle-blowing bounty in US history, my dad knew he found the right guy for the case. When he called Mark's offices around 3am, his answering service was quick to get him on the phone despite the early morning hour. Mark instructed my dad on what to do next. I had not been arrested yet, but Mark personally accompanied me to the police station to turn myself in. In addition, he linked us with a bondsman so that I would be in and out of jail in just a few short minutes after being booked. At court the next day, Mark made sure I knew exactly what to expect and how things were likely to play out. Originally I was charged with Assault - Second degree, interfering with a 911 call, strangulation - Third degree, and disorderly conduct. About a year later, I would walk out of the courtroom with all charges dropped. Mark and Christine Gertsch handled everything with the utmost of professionalism and kept my best interest in mind at all times. On my first court appearance, I was the only person in DV court to leave without being ordered to wear an ankle monitoring bracelet. They went out of their way to help recommend a private substance abuse counselor and mental health/anger management counselor, when the court ordered me to undergo counseling. They also helped me in getting released from seeing a probation officer after just 5 weeks - This was important to me as I had to take off of work once a week to see the probation officer. Next, Mark got me enrolled into a 6 month domestic violence class (I attended once a week). The agreement was that I complete the group sessions and I didn't get arrested, for all charges to be dropped. During this time, Mark was able to get me additional excused absences from the program to attend a friends wedding, even after I already exhausted the number of allowed absences. Christine fought very hard to get my protection order lowered from a "full" to a "residential stay away", to a "partial" during my case (the alleged victim and I wanted nothing more than to be back together). Christine even managed to schedule me early meetings as soon as the Family Services offices opened, so that I could make it to work on time. Finally, after doing everything that I was asked to do, the prosecutor did not want to drop my case because I had a "bad attitude" and I spoke my mind during the group session program. Mark was not having any of that! He had a look on his face like there was a snowballs chance in hell of me getting disqualified from the program which I had completed. At the very next court appearance after telling me that, my case was dropped. I highly recommend attorney Sherman and his team - Mark and Christine did a hell of a job. Do yourself a favor and look no further if you or anyone you know is in need of a criminal defense attorney.
