I live in one of the "W" towns in Fairfield and was involved in a domestic dispute where I was accused of something I didn't do. As you can imagine, I was horrified to be thrust into the legal system, especially because of a vengeful family member. I initially consulted another attorney who told me a...bout the concept of a nolle and told me that was the best resolution. He made it seem as if a nolle was the same as a dismissal, but fortunately I was able to research the difference. When I asked about a dismissal, he told me it was not possible. Since the charge was false, the dismissal was the most appropriate resolution for this issue, and it's scary that I could have ended up with a nolle instead and not known the difference. I was arrested for disorderly conduct in Darien for a very minor altercation with my husband and Mark got it dropped. I had dialed 911 and hung up- never meaning to actually call the police. Unfortunately, the call went through and the police called back. They interrogated my husband and myself in s...eparate rooms and issued us both disorderly conduct summons. It was late at night and I had to be in court the next morning. I called Mark's office at 7:30 am and was connected to him immediately.
