About seven years ago I made a stupid mistake and was arrested for possession of a minimal amount of marijuana. Every job application I have had since then has asked, “Have you ever been convicted of a crime?” Unfortunately, I always had to check the “Yes” box and disclose my conviction. Understandab...ly, many of my job applications were immediately thrown out. For the last seven years I carried that burden, until recently when I met with Naugatuck attorney Tim Fitzpatrick. Tim was excellent. He came recommended by a friend, who apparently hired him to do some unrelated work. I went to Tim basically for a consultation, because I had a dispute with my landlord after he basically did nothing even though in my lease said he had to maintain appliances (such as AC over the... summer) and I could not without his permission. My landlord was basically blackmailing me to pay him more in rent. Not only did Tim advise me personally, he sat down with me and personally walked me through the case explaining everything. He offered to take the case on the spot. I swear not even two days had passed before he called me with everything set up to move forward. I assume because he knew the immediate nature of the situation. He had my back and i knew it from the first conversation with him. He and everyone in his office were super professional and courteous with me. He took care of a frustrating, intimidating situation for me that I was lost trying to figure out. I was stuck financially in between a rock and a hard spot but with the help of Mr. Fitzpatrick I got out and was better off. He dispelled a lot of negative stereotypes that I had of lawyers and truly showed me that some people actually care for their work and their customers. He even called me a couple of weeks later to check on how everything was going. I truly appreciate everything he did for me and wouldn't hesitate in calling him back or recommending him to family or a friend.
