About seven years ago I made a stupid mistake and was arrested for possession of a minimal amount of marijuana. Every job application I have had since then has asked, “Have you ever been convicted of a crime?” Unfortunately, I always had to check the “Yes” box and disclose my conviction. Understandab...ly, many of my job applications were immediately thrown out. For the last seven years I carried that burden, until recently when I met with Naugatuck attorney Tim Fitzpatrick. He explained to me how marijuana laws were changing, and if we took the right approach, there was a possibility that my conviction could be completely erased. In November 2015, we went to court. When I heard the Judge say that our Motion was granted, I almost fainted. I am happy to announce that my arrest record is now clean, and I can begin checking the “No” box on my job applications.
