About Peter
Biography
Helping injured people is what Peter does day-in and day-out.
One of Peter’s good friends was killed by a drunk driver. Later that same year, his father was seriously injured in a workplace accident. He watched as the insurance companies delayed and denied payment to his friend and his father.
He was not surprised by this. As a litigation attorney for most of his career, Peter had represented insurance companies and defended those who injured others. He knew of their tactics to delay justice to the truly injured. After watching his friend and father fail to obtain the money they deserved, he decided to do something about it.
Peter is now a Senior Trial Attorney at Pavano & van der Werff, LLC. Literally since day one, he has been trying cases against insurance companies, corporations and defendants, holding them responsible for their actions and the injuries they have caused to his clients.

Peter has represented clients before all of the Courts in the State of Connecticut. He is also a seasoned workers’ compensation attorney, representing injured workers’ throughout the State.

Admitted in Connecticut State Court and the U.S. District Court in Connecticut, Peter represents the firm’s clients in litigation throughout Connecticut. He is also admitted to practice in New York.
Peter received his Bachelor of Arts in English and International Politics from Catholic University of America and his Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law. After law school, Peter served as Judicial Clerk for the Connecticut Superior Court, District of Waterbury, including now Appellate Court Judge Bethany Alvord and Judge Salvatore Agati.
A lifelong Connecticut resident, Peter lives in Hartford County with his wife and three daughters. He also moonlights as a college football official.

Terrible Lawyer
Never returned call after I got the police report to him. I guess he didn’t notice it would do any benefit to him. He could have said something like you have no case or anything.
