MS

I can't speak highly enough of my attorney; Christine A Maltby. She was appointed on 4/30/19, by the Quincy court, to represent me; as my defense attorney, in a criminal case. From our introduction and through several court appearances; ending on 10/11/19, Christine was always respectful, pati...ent, sympathetic and very knowledgeable. She helped me through perhaps the worst five plus months of my life. Each time we had to appear in court, Christine would explain to me exactly what would happen, what I should do and say and more importantly; what I shouldn't do or say. Christine helped me to navigate the criminal court system; which I had no previous experience with. She answered my seemingly endless questions patiently and thoroughly. She was very sympathetic to the fact that this whole process was completely foreign to me and overwhelmingly stressful. The trait I would stress and praise the most is the fact that on our last court date, 10/11/19, Christine went completely above and beyond what her job as my defense attorney required; even while dealing with a personal family tragedy. I had Christine whether I would get blank motion forms at the clerk's office or at the probation office. (I was trying to get approval for changes to the terms of my probation.) The next thing I know, Christine is filling-out the motion form for me so that we could possibly get the motion heard that same day! I'm absolutely positive that without Christine going the extra mile and her legal expertise, the outcome would not have been as incredibly positive for me. An outcome I hadn't even thought was possible! Christine got the judge to agree that I did not have to complete community service due to several chronic health conditions. Then she got the judge to agree to waive the monthly probation fee. Then she got the judge and a representative from the Quincy probation office to agree that a letter from my PCP could be substituted for a mental health assessment which my health insurance company wouldn't pay for and that I couldn't afford to pay for. The most surprising and astounding part of the day is when she got the judge to agree to change my probation from supervised to administrative which means I no longer need to meet with my probation officer or have him conduct a home visit! This was not something I had even dared hope for when the day began. I would recommend Christine Maltby as an attorney to anyone who needs a criminal defense attorney and wants to be treated with respect, sympathy, kindness, patience and a client who wants someone very knowledgeable of criminal law and is able to navigate the complicated court system with ease. Most importantly, Christine will go above and beyond what is required of her in order to help her client as much as possible!

Fantastic Criminal Attorney

I hired Christy privately on a criminal case and it was the best decision I could have made. Christy is extremely dedicated to her clients and makes herself available whenever you need her. The case went on longer than expected and Christy did everything she could to ease my concerns and keep me pos...itive throughout the very stressful process. I would recommend her to anyone looking to hire a criminal attorney!

Highly recommend

I can not even begin to tell you how great of an attorney Christine is. I went from feeling defeated with my other attorney to feeling completely confident. She looked at me as a person and not just another case. She explained all of my options in detail so that I fully understood and made sure that ...I never felt pressured on decision making. Super knowledgeable is an understatement. Thank you again

First Offense Public Defender

Ms. Maltby is an absolutely amazing defender! Ms. Maltby was assigned to me as a public defender in January of 2018. She immediately expressed her sympathy and worked with me to get my point of view on the incident that got me first put into custody. (This is my first time in a court house for myself... and my first time being arrested. My very first arraignment). At this arraignment my bail that was posted the Friday before of $40 was raised to $1,500. All of which I was unable to supply in that very moment. Ms. Maltby worked hard and got my bail reduced that very first day from $1,500 to $500. With a more reasonable bail, I was able to borrow money and post bail. Throughout the last year Ms. Maltby has walked me step by step through each discovery, each cne, each dna conversation, each panic attack etc. Ms. Maltby is sure to keep her clients involved and up to date at all times and is always easily accessible. She’s sat with me and my family and listened and dedicated her time to working with us for the greatest outcome for us all. I am extremely grateful to have received a public defender with such an awesome background in law and huge heart for people and their everyday lives that are affected by these run ins with the law. I definitely recommend her. She’s got a true calling and passion for what she does.
