Amazing advice in trying times

After being with an organization for close to a decade and having just moved my family across the country, my job was unexpectedly eliminated. Ben was my rock during a very turbulent time. He was responsive and provided me the information I had to have to work through my severance and non-compete. Hi...s passion for sticking up for the little guy is absolutely impressive. If you ever face this, you need to have somebody like Ben in your corner.

A lawyer with a passion to help people

When I was laid off by my formal employer in ways that I felt unfair and unjust, I contacted Ben to explore my options. As I started to explain the situation, Ben was able to very quickly grasp the key dimensions of my case. He educated me on the relevant laws and legal framework and based on which t...he different options I could pursue. Through the conversations, I found Ben both very knowledgeable and very trustworthy. Unlike many other lawyers I met before, he seems to care genuinely the clients' interest and well-being. My decision to detain Ben to represent my case turned out to be a great decision. He was very responsive and kept me informed all the way. I believe he pushed as hard as possible for my interest and helped me to achieve the best possible result. I would highly recommend Ben for any employment related cases.

A Staunch Advocate!

I randomly found Benjamin Flam online when I was searching for someone with employment law expertise. I was drawn to the fact that Ben and the firm are dedicated solely to employee advocacy, rather than representing employers. To me, this purposeful differentiation sent a clear message as to which ...side they are on, and eliminates any potential conflict of interest. When I first ventured an introductory call to Ben, I was unsure what to do and unaware of my options. Ben listened patiently, asked relevant questions, quickly grasped the nuances of my corporate environment and engaged in a genuine dialogue that demonstrated not only his legal expertise, but also his level of care and compassion for his clients. His candid approach and client-centric focus put me at ease immediately. Ben provided solid advice and solutions for a course of action that was targeted to my unique scenario. During a difficult time in my life, Ben seemed to lift the burden from my shoulders and place it completely on his. He managed every aspect and kept me informed. I found him to be a quick thinker, strategic, and a worthy negotiator. He earned my trust and was resolute in looking out for my best interests. Throughout, Ben greatly surpassed my expectations in the level of customer service, responsiveness and compassion he demonstrated by his actions as my legal representative. He returned calls and emails in a timely manner, often surprising me with a response after 5:00 pm or during the weekend. He is straightforward, diligent and sincere in efforts to help you win, yet simultaneously, move forward in a positive manner. At times, his sage advice was almost therapeutic. I feel lucky to have stumbled upon Benjamin Flam, and along the way, I found him to be a person of integrity, dedication and principled conviction. He is a staunch advocate that you will definitely want on your side.

Poor outcome. Very sketchy.

Definitely won’t be going back to Benjamin Flam or the Gordon Law firm. Flam claimed that he was on a "first-names basis" with the opposite side attorney, so I hired him to negotiate a settlement for me. To my shock, after pocketing my fee and making a couple of calls to the other side, he started so...unding like a mouthpiece for the other side, repeating their nonsensical claims verbatim, without giving me a chance to dispute or clarify it. He then stopped replying to emails, voicemails, and messages left with the assistant until I involved his supervisor. Most damaging of all, he did not apprise me of my rights under various Federal and State statutes while the matter was within the statute of limitations. I found out later from other attorneys that at the time I hired Gordon Law, I had a strong bargaining position, and I could have filed complaints with federal agencies for myself and possibly other affected employees, but that the statute of limitations had since expired. It is not clear if the failure to pursue my rights were due to ignorance of case law on the part of this firm or for other reasons. Flam even failed to get the other side's position in writing, insisting that written letters were for “amateurs”. He communicated with me strictly by phone and email, despite my seven explicit requests to meet in person (unlike other attorneys who would not take the case without meeting me in-person first). In the end, I certainly did not get the settlement I paid for, did not receive competent advice, lost valuable time, had no written record of the other side's position, and was left hanging for much needed answers to build my case. Altogether, very sketchy.
