Joseph Lear Sulman

In May of 2010 while working full time as a fitness trainer I started my transition from male to female, I am a transgender woman. In November of 2010 I was fired from my job. I then went to The Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and filed a complaint of discrimination against my former ...employer. My employer responded with a position statement and I then wrote a rebuttal. I was then told it would take MCAD 18 to 24 months to determine whether or not there was probable cause for discrimination. In July 2012 MCAD had determined that they had found probable cause for discrimination. At this point I felt overwhelmed, in January of 2013 myself and my counsel and my former employer and his counsel would meet at the MCAD office for a conciliation hearing. I knew at this point I needed help. I went online and spent four hours reading lawyer profile after lawyer profile website after website. I wanted to find a lawyer who represented me, a trans woman, someone who understood me and my life. I called a few and the response was the same telling me they don't have any experience working with trans people. I continued searching click after click and somehow I came to http://www.sulmanlaw.com/ and there were the words I had been looking for, Gender discrimination and LGBT discrimination. I picked up the phone and called and spoke to Joe's assistant attorney David who told me to send all the paper work I had and they would take a look.
