Through our 6 year experience with Marc, he has left a lasting image of an outstanding lawyer. As parents of a 12 year old girl, who injured her knee during a basketball game in 2002, we felt extremely confident that the Orthopedic Surgeon we took her to see, and who was highly recommended and a specialist in Sports Medicine that she was in good hands. After many months of office visits, with ...no change in her range of motion, her last office visit and x-ray had shown that she needed emergency hip surgery. She received care at a local children’s hospital, and would spend the next 7 years having corrective surgery. It was during this period that we were informed that she would have had a better outcome, if the Specialist had performed a more thorough examination. We felt betrayed and let down that she didn’t receive the care she deserved, and would have to live with the consequences of the Surgeons in-action. After further soul searching, we decided that this was a case that warranted legal action, and that she needed to be represented by a competent and diligent attorney. Because of your phenomenal assistance with my father’s wrongful death, my mother who was dependent on my father’s loving care is now receiving and will continue to receive the care she needs. At the start of this journey that began with a car accident that would ultim...ately claim my father’s life, all I wanted to do was be with my father as he lay in the ICU connected to more life supporting machines than I ever hope to see again, and to comfort my poor mother who had depended on my father for so long. I didn’t want to do or think about anything else, certainly not to seek legal counsel as visions of opportunistic ambulance chasers and bad TV ads and posters on buses came to mind - it just felt wrong. On another front, we were getting nowhere with our effort to place our mother into a quality assisted living facility. Although my parents had sacrificed and saved for their future, their savings were modest at best and inadequate for the exorbitant cost of many such facilities. My mother deteriorated. Her needs exceeded our capacity to care for her – even with the assistance of a home health aide. We asked Attorney Breakstone to try to resolve the matter quickly as we were being rejected by assisted living facilities because of inadequate financial resources. Not only did Attorney Breakstone settle the claim much more quickly than anticipated, but for an amount that was more than six times as much as my highest hopes at the start of this journey. My mother finally met the financial requirements and, no surprise, was accepted by an excellent assisted living facility. So I say again “Thank you, Attorney Breakstone.” Because of you and all your work, my family and I can now relax with the knowledge that my mother is receiving the care that she needs and my father’s wrongful death has been justly compensated.

Marc Breakstone was a great lawyer to have representing me after I was seriously injured after I was hit by a car on my bicycle. Marc was my attorney while I was still in the hospital and he took out away all of the stress of dealing with bills and insurance companies. He made it very clear that my... top priority was to get better. I never once had to deal with bills or the insurance company, Marc took care of that. Even once I was released from the hospital I had nagging injuries that I thought were minor. Marc followed up with me on multiple occasions to make sure I got them diagnosed and it turned out they were not minor at all! Before filing the lawsuit, Marc laid out the steps in the litigation and we knew exactly what our roles and responsibilities would be. This was important to my wife and me as she was battling metastatic cancer and her time commitment to treatment was major. Like clockwork, Marc kept us informed of all of the important developments in the case. When it came time for us to answer written interrogatories and to appear to give testimony at our depositions, Marc spent the time necessary preparing us so that we were totally comfortable with these important proceedings. More important, he was a caring advocate who sat by our and our children’s sides during our depositions to ensure that we got through the difficult questioning without event. Unfortunately, our case was scheduled and rescheduled several times for trial. With my wife terminally ill, Marc advised us to consider an alternative to trial, namely binding arbitration. Based on his recommendation, we agreed to forego a jury trial and submit the case to binding arbitration. My wife and I watched in amazement as Marc effectively presented our case to the arbitrator. Not only did he masterfully present our evidence, but he surgically took apart each of the three defense expert witnesses. That was something to see. These defense experts were chairmen of their respective departments at major teaching hospitals and were considered national authorities in their fields. Marc took them down with aplomb. We won the arbitration and received an award of damages which we felt fully compensated my family. Marc is a ferocious warrior for his clients. We felt that we got the best possible representation.
