On December 21st, 4 days before Christmas, I found myself a victim. A van going over 40mph flew into my body as I stood in a crosswalk near my home. As I rolled over the van, I immediately felt my life was over. My backpack tore off my body like it was held on by string. And when I hit the cement all... I could think about was the oncoming traffic which would crush me. For reasons I still don’t understand today, cars screeched to a halt seconds before hitting me.
