19 months ago I swerved to avoid a deer at night. I missed the deer but I hit a large rock with the right side of my vehicle which did damage to the right front suspension. That night would change my life forever because I was charged with OUI, having a loaded firearm in my possession, which I was li...censed to carry and two other charges. I have never been is this situation, but I knew I needed an attorney and a good one, so the search was on. After calling several of the best rated OUI attorneys I was discouraged until I spoke to Mike. When I first met with Mike, it was a free one hour consultation where he explained the whole process to litigate these charges and defend me. At this point, he had limited information so there was no sugar coating the severity of this case (the good, the bad and the ugly). Mike is very skilled at picking out the right jury, he explained to me why he selected each juror and not. When the arresting police officer was giving his testimony for the state, Mike took lots of notes. Then on cross examination, be basically destroyed the officers testimony and credibility with inconsistences compared to the police report that the officer wrote, along with my booking video that clearly showed that I was not under the influence compared to the police officers testimony. The plan was to put me on the stand, but Mike felt confident enough that we have presented a very good case against the state and there is always a risk, putting the defendant on the stand and it’s not required. But, like he said from the beginning, it’s my trial. I told Mike, let’s go, I waited 19 months for this day and the jury needs to hear from me, he just smiled. Mike also prepped me for the states cross examination so I knew what to expect. The trial lasted 2 days which included the four hours it took the jury to deliberate a verdict of “Not Guilty”. I live and Massachusettes and was pulled over and booked for a DUI in New Hampshire. I had never even gotten a ticket before and was extremely worried and didn't know what to do. I was facing a DUI charge out of Nashua Nh , I was terrified & had no idea where to start. I was arrested and charged for operating under the influence (OUI) after being involved in a 2 car crash (also charged with marked lanes violation). Thankfully no one was injured. I looked terrible after the crash and said something about having some beverages that night to the police. I agreed to do...ing Field Sobriety tests and breathalyzer (later at the station) test as well. Clearly, the results weren’t great. Being a non-US citizen on a working visa, OUI conviction or even a CWOF has very serious implications. I could potentially lose everything which I worked really hard for. So it was critical to find the best lawyer who believed in me and is an expert in the OUI investigations. Many lawyers I consulted with advised me to plead out. But Attorney Bowser took the time to walk through all the details of the legal process to explain what evidence can/cannot come into play. He used video footage (from the station) which showed me behaving in a sober manner and was able to find a technical fault in how one of the FST was conducted by the Police as well (which in my opinion really shows his expertise in this field). I think that extra effort made a significant impact and I was found NOT GUILTY. I found Attorney Bowser to be professional, responsive and someone who commands a lot of respect in the courtroom.
