The law firm was established in 2006.  We specialize in Estate Planning, Elder Law, Real Estate, and Business Law. 

I grew up in Wakefield, MA, went to Wakefield High from 1990-1994.  I received the Salem State Presidential Scholarship for academics, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Salem State Honors Program in 1998 with a degree in criminal justice.  The most important thing that the criminal justice curriculum is that I never wanted to be a criminal lawyer.  I started Suffolk Law School straight out of college, determined to finish in three years, despite having to work nights and weekends.  I went to school with kids whose parents put them up in apartments around the corner from school, while I was either taking the train or fighting the traffic.  When I got out of class, I went to one of my two jobs, either the computer store in Woburn or the small Law Firm in Lynn.

 Despite being exhausted most of the time, I graduated Suffolk after three years, in 2001.  I actually took the bar exam and got married all in the same week (bar exam on Wednesday-Thursday, Rehearsal Dinner Friday, and wedding Sunday) and still managed to pass on my first try.  I was sworn in to the Massachusetts Bar in January 2002.

My wife and I moved to Wilmington in 2003, and we have two children in the Wilmington school system. 

I stayed on as an Associate with the Lynn firm until 2006, when I went out on my own, and opened the Law Office of Michael Monteforte Jr. in September 2006.  The firm started out as a General practice, handling pretty much whatever came in the door, but over the years, I started to concentrate on the specific legal fields that I found to be fulfilling and challenging.  I began to take continuing education classes that specialized in estate planning and elder law, and hones my expertise in those fields.  The firm underwent a name change incorporated in 2017, now called Monteforte Law P.C.  The firm specializes in Estate Planning, Elder Law, Real Estate, and Business.  For any other areas of law, we can provide referrals, but we are accepting new cases only in those fields of law.

I was referred to Michael Monteforte by a friend because I did not have a will and needed one within 2 days. do to a medical emergency. Michael emailed me the documents and made time to see me The next day . Great Lawyer with lots of integrity
I contacted Michael about helping with my mom and dads finances. Mom had to go to a nursing home. Michael assured me from the beginning he would always be there for me. Michael told me how much it would be to do all the work which I found to be very fair compared to other quotes I had. Through the long process Michael took the time to explain everything that was going on and if I had a question he was quick to answer. We had many hurdles to overcome with my mom's case but Michael never gave up. There was a point where I was fed up with the system and was ready to throw in the towel, Michael calmed me down and got me re focused and assured me all that was happening he had seen some of before. As time went on we had numerous requests for information from Mass Health and again Michael did many mailings and overnight packages and never asked for a dime more than what he quoted. After about 1 1/2 years we made it to the end and got mom taken care of. Michael explained to me why this kind of law was so important to him. If you meet him he can tell you his story as I do not want to make a mistake with his story. Over the course of almost 2 years knowing Michael I have found him to be a stand up guy. I have also gave him ideas about how I might be able to help him going forward with other cases he might have. Believe me when I tell you if you think you can do estate planning or try to get someone on Medicaid without a lawyer you are fooling yourself. I highly recommend Michael for the services he provides. In closing if you go to his office and have to wait a couple of minutes enjoy looking has his beautiful fish tank.

We hired Michael to help us navigate our mom's estate and affairs after her passing and he was excellent at every step of the journey. Michael stepped right in to tell us what needed to be done, when, and really took the burden off of us and his office managed everything from start to finish. He replied to every eMail, every phone call and couldn't have been more helpful or personable to work with. He made a difficult process very streamlined for us and we couldn't have been happier with his service at every step along the way. Michael also served as the closing attorney for the estate sale and again, he handled every phone call, stepped in to secure all the paperwork, etc. and made sure everything was settled so we could close the property. Mike was referred to me by a family member about 10 years ago. It is comforting to know I have a competent attorney I can turn to no matter what my needs. Most recently Mike helped me with estate planning and all the documents needed to protect my assets and make sure my financial and health care needs were clear for my family.
