We needed to sell our parents’ home.
Probate was needed for two people to clear title to the house.
Attorney Roberts handled the probate cases and prepared for the real estate closing.
Attorney Roberts negotiated with MassHealth and obtained lien releases.
Attorney Roberts handled the real estate closing and we distributed proceeds from the real estate
closing to me and my brothers and sisters.
After my first application for disability was denied by Social Security, I called Attorney Roberts, and he started working on my case. The treatment of my condition by a medical specialist had been interrupted, because I didn’t have health insurance. Attorney Roberts explained how I could get health insurance coverage, so I could go back and get treatment from that doctor again.
Attorney Roberts then asked the doctor for detailed testimony to explain my condition. My specialist has many patients, and declined to provide detailed testimony to supplement the medical treatment notes and other information that was already in my medical records.
Attorney Roberts gathered all of the medical records and went with me to the Social Security Disability hearing. But the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) said she did not believe that the pain caused by my condition prevented me from working, because I had collected unemployment compensation after losing my last job. She said she believed that I could still work, because I had received unemployment insurance.
Attorney Roberts appealed the case to federal court, but the federal Judge decided there was nothing he could do in my case, because the issue was “credibility” (the ALJ believed that I could still work).
As soon as we received that Federal Court decision, Attorney Roberts helped me file a new application. Attorney Roberts re-contacted the specialist who treats my condition, and explained that without his testimony, Social Security would never understand how severe my condition is, and my claim would be denied again.
By then, I had regular appointments with the specialist, since I had health insurance. The specialist decided this time to provide the written testimony, and Social Security immediately allowed my claim. I recovered retroactive benefits going back 1 year before the day we filed the second application.
Attorney Roberts stayed with my case until I got the result that I needed.

Testimonial for John L Roberts
I continued working for many years, even though the disability was severe. When I could no longer work, I applied for Social Security Disability, but my application was denied.
I called Attorney Roberts. He prepared a summary of all my treatment records going back many years, and he obtained a report from my doctor that explained why I could no longer work. Atty Roberts was very thorough and detailed with compiling all my medical records.
When I went to the hearing with Attorney Roberts, I explained my condition and limitations. The judge told us the medical records were complete and my claim was allowed.

Disability claims
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I worked with Attorney Roberts on a case involving what is often described as an “invisible disability.” The Claimant was severely impaired, but the disability was not understood or believed by the Social Security personnel who reviewed the written treatment records, and the Claimant’s testimony.
Attorney Roberts helped the claimant find treatment, and he obtained reports from examining physicians who were able to explain the disability to Social Security.
Attorney Roberts stayed with the case after it was denied at several levels, and he was able to get the case remanded from Federal Court to an Administrative Law Judge who did see the Claimant’s severe disability, inability to work and eligibility for disability benefits based on his work history.
I have over 20 years' experience in assisting claimants who are homeless with accessing SSA benefits. I admire his persistence, dedication, care and persistence. I definitely recommend Atty. Roberts.
I recommend Attorney Roberts as thorough, and dedicated to helping the disabled workers he represents.

Took a complicated case, followed through and won for us.
I have a close family member who lives in Attorney Roberts area. I live hundreds of miles away. My family member has cognition problems and physical health problems. I contacted Attorney Roberts, and he orgainized the Social Security case for us. He worked with the nurse, social worker, and doctor's offices, to obtain documentation of the disability.
When it came time for the hearing, Attorney Roberts represented my family member. He asked the questions that we needed to show the judge that my family member cannot work.
Attorney Roberts understood the importance of prompt handling of the disability case, because my family member needed a disability decision in order to qualify for special housing in the community. Attorney Roberts also helped me to understand how the disability status affected settlement of Medicaid issues involving my family member.

Review
Atty Roberts helped me in 2009 in the sale of a piece of property. I am the power of attorney for my father who needed to sell his multifamily house in Connecticut. The sale was complicated by the presence of tenants who needed eviction. Atty Roberts was very professional in handling the eviction and eventual sale of the house. He kept me informed regularly via emails and phone calls, and he was very meticulous and researched every detail regarding the sale of the house. He did a very thorough job and I was pleased with the whole process. I would definitely recommend him, and I will use his services again in the future.

Provided no value-despite charging for “services”
This lawyer is expensive, evasive and does things backwards. Instead of driving the conversation based on his clients’ priorities, he pushes his own agenda-literally, which he will give to you at the meeting. That sets the tone for the meeting-he’s not there to listen and serve the needs of his client. He avoided providing direct answers to direct questions. He was condescending. He was narcissistic. He is more concerned with taking a fee for service than providing value for service. Having worked with a lawyer prior to him on other matters, I had a good benchmark for how a lawyer should be when acting as an ally. This guy acted more like a robot, spitting out information he’s spit out before, and provided the equivalent experience of someone saying “look it up on the Internet.” Waste of time and money. I do not recommend.
