I'm writing this review because Mr. Newman saved my life. I went in for my two hour schedual concueltation. After describing my problem, he figured out that I was suffering from BWS "Brain Worm Syndrom". He agreed to take my case, as soon as we can figure who gave them to me. I so recomoned Mr. Newman as the leading expert in brain worm syndrom.

Mr. Newman is not only wise but actually showed compassion about my situation. It's not easy to actually find someone who actually cares these days! I would recommend him to anyone who needs a good attorney.

When you are frightened, overwhelmed,and confused Shawn has got to be the best attorney around. Shawn Newman did a great job for me, not only was his intelligence great but the way i was able to talk to him as if he were a friend was refreshing. Newman turned an almost certain conviction to a deferral and under the condition i was at, i could not have asked for more. Newman ultimately got all of my charges dismissed. He was knowledgeable and really good about answering any questions in a timely manner. He asked for the full discovery of evidence the state had against me in a marijuana possession case. When they failed to do so he was able to get everything dropped within 10 minutes of meeting with the prosecuting attorney in pretrial. He drove all the way out towards Spokane for the trial and did everything I could have asked out of a lawyer. Newman has a kick ass personality, meaning he went into the pretrial suggesting that he was not afraid to go to trial, and wouldn't accept just any plea deal. None of us wanted to go to trial, but he was able to convince the prosecutor otherwise. Great experience.

Shawn Newman handled an appeal before the Washington State Supreme Court for me. It was a lawyer disciplinary matter in which I was wrongly accused of misconduct. Prior to retaining him, I had an attorney who did not communicate with me, was insensitive and was not diligent. FInally, this former attorney committed an act of clear malpractice in handling my case. At that poing, however, most of the briefing had already been done by my former lawyer and it had been done poorly. The only briefing left to do was my reply brief becuase my former lawyer had not filed a reply brief and then failed to disclose that fact to me for over 5 months. Mr. Newman's only opportunity to save the situation was with the reply brief. As a result, I needed Mr. Newman to get up to speed on a case that had been ongoing for 5 years and I needed him to do so quickly. It was an emergency. He set to work immediately and did a great job with the briefing. It had to be done in a matter of days. We had to file a motion immediately in order to get leave to file the late brief. Mr. Newman successfully handled all this for me. We were granted leave to file the late reply. From the moment I retained him, he dedicated himself, full-time to my case because that was what was required. And I believe he turned things around for me. Although I don't yet know the outcome of the case, I do know (because I am a lawyer myself) that Mr. Newman as well as anyone could have done under the circumstances. He did a great job in briefing the issues. He works efficiently. He did a good job at oral argument. He communicated with me so that I knew my position was being represented at oral argument. I only wish I had retained him to represent me from the outset of the case. A great deal of damage was done to my case by starting off with the wrong lawyer. I would use Mr. Newman again, but this time, from the beginning.

We are a nonprofit media center. Shawn has been our attorney for more than 15 years. He is passionate about his work. He understands the challenges that often face nonprofit organizations and works hard to make his talents and skills available to us without streatching the limits of our budget. Shawn did an excellent job in dealing with a frivolous and unfounded lawsuit brought on by a large corporate company that thought that they could bully a smaller company, for their gains.

We were in a deep hole when Shawn replaced our previous attorney. Shawn immediately went on the offensive, big time. He uncovered multiple lies by the opposition under oath, dug into County records, asked the right questions, exerted intense pressure and they dropped the case which they had for the most part won 9 months earlier. Domestic Violence. I never imagined I would be arrested for having an argument with my wife of 18 years, but it happened. Shawn is a friend of a friend, and agreed to help me and my family. Shawn recognized that I, we, and this single incident did not fit the profile of domestic violence. Even though this was not his specialty, he accurately predicted what would happen and why. Not only did he guide me through the process, he looked me in the eye, treated me with respect and compassion and told me to have faith. Shawn advised me not to accept the "deal" that would have left us "emotionally and financially bankrupt" and with a criminal record. In the end, thanks to Shawn's work and savvy, all charges were dismissed. The day I was arrested was one of the worst of my life, and the day all charges were dismissed, was one of the best. My family is back together, in love, respect and gratitude. Thanks Shawn.

As far as lawyers go Shawn is the real deal! A pit bull who is not afraid to take on the big dogs. If the men in black ever come looking for me I've told my family to call Mr. Newman. He is a man with a great sense of humor, genuine helping of integrity and a real decent human being. I have the utmost respect for him as an attorney and a friend of the underdog!

I was arrested for taping a school board meeting and needed a lawyer I called the AG's office and a person recommended Mr. Newman. I hired Mr. Newman and he filed suit right away. He kept me informed immediately of progress via e-mail and telephone. Without going to court we settled. Mr. Newman handled two lawsuits brought by a Gig Harbor, WA neighborhood association against the State of Washington where I was one of two people who represented that association's work with Mr. Newman. Mr. Newman successfully took our case on one of these lawsuits to the State Supreme Court where we won a decision against the State. Later, I was a board member of non-profit corporation that hired Mr. Newman to run another lawsuit against the State of Washington. In all cases, we were very pleased with his work and how he represented us. His interest in public issues and expertise in this legal area proved to be an asset to us and our cases. Everyone who worked with Mr. Newman felt he represented us in a competent, knowledgable and agressive manner. I would recommend Mr. Newman to anyone with issues involving areas of government.
Mr. Newman also represented me personally in several legal situations that did not lead to judicial action but he was most helpful in getting my issues resolved to my complete satisfaction.
