Mr. Itkin represented me in a very contentious retaliation/wrongful termination case that involved disability discrimination and also failure to pay overtime against a major hospital. My ex employer seems to have recognized early that they violated the law, but it still took a long, drawn out process to get them to bring me back to work and pay my lost wages. A few attorneys have rejected my cases before I came to Arkady, who struck me right away as more knowledgeable, more direct and more competent attorney than the others. Instead of telling me whether I have a case or not and that's it, he took the time to explain to me the strengths and the weaknesses of my cases so that we were on the same page. Mr. Itkin handled very well my challenging slip and fall case against a major retailer. While my injuries were quite serious (broken knee and shoulder), proving the case was an uphill battle. Even though we were both ready for trial, I am glad that Mr. Itkin settled my case just a few weeks before the trial was to begin. Arkady helped me to appeal notice of determination and overpayment from EDD for my mom who is not fluent in English. We met him for about an hour to discuss the case and he helped us prepare for the hearing. We also felt more comfortable with his presence and we asked him to accompany us to the appeal hearing. The hearing took probably 20 min at most and while most of the time judge spoke directly to my mom through interpreter, at the end of the hearing Arkady had ability to summarize the issue, present our points in a concise manner and ask my mom follow up questions that helped to clarify situation. We actually won the case and judge overturned EDD's decisions.

Arkady Itkin is a must have lawyer for many reasons. The first is that he is a compassionate person which is rare in these times. Arkady worked tirelessly on my case. He always got back to me very quickly, regardless of the time of day. My case was against a Government entity. We would have won, but for the fact that California permits police officers to say false and defamatory things about a person, without any liability.
