Description: Client was caught shoplifting from Sears. Client was not a US Citizen and could not afford to plead guilty to theft because of adverse immigration consequences. Furthermore, client was indigent and could not afford a private attorney. Fred Thiagarajah volunteered to handle the case pro bono.
