I hired Kristine after she responded to a question I posted on Avvo.com and couldn't be more glad that I did. She has represented me with skill and grace and has secured me a settlement I couldn't have gotten on my own. Not only does she really know her stuff, she's an incredibly nice and warm person and she made me feel comfortable and well represented the whole way through the process. I cannot recommend her highly enough. If you need a great employment lawyer, look no further, because you've found her.

She put me at ease by answering all the questions I had.
I had a lot of questions about independent contractor misclassification.
Definitely a knowledgeable attorney!
I would recommend her!

First off, this was my first time using an attorney. I was very nervous when I placed the initial call. Kristine listened to my description of my problems, and she thoroughly explained to me, all of my options. She was able to obtain overtime monies that were owed to me by my employer. Without her help and expertise, I would not have been able to collect that pay, which I had earned. Kristine, Thank you very much for all your help. I could not have done it without you !!!

I had a Labor Case and tried to do this on my own with the Labor Commissioner. But, found out I should have gotten a lawyer. I found Ms. Karila on the internet and found other comments from clients she represented. So, I hired Ms. Karila in November 2012 and in December 2012, She got the Company to settle with me close to what I was asking for. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone who is trying to win there case in the Labor Comissioners to not go and fight without having Attorney Karila represent you! Or any cases for that matter. She has over 20+ years experience in Labor Law...."This was defintely a lesson learned!" Thank you so much Ms. Karila for being there every step of the way. Justice was served for me and my family!

I was very happy working with Ms. Karila. Not only did she give me good advice but she continued giving advice after the time period that I paid for had expired.
I had 2 other lawyers that did not help me out. In fact I received bad advice from one of them. Ms. Karila gave me the steps I needed to further resolve my situation.

Ms. Kristine Karila has been my company's legal counsel for 9 years. Kristine is extremely knowledgeable and efficient. We have retained her services to help with employment law matters and litigation in California. Kristine has successfully defended unfound claims against my company. She was able to get a frivilous lawsuit dismissed and has helped prevent us from being sued. She has been very helpful in writing our company policies and manual. I have recommended her to many people who have also expressed happiness with her legal services.

Ms Karila was amazing. This was a very stressful situation. She was very knowledgeable, and really explained my rights to me. Any questions I had were answered quickly and thoroughly.
She made sure I knew what to expect at every turn.
She really made me feel that she had my best interest at heart. She really fought for me. It was all more than I could have hoped for.

Ms. Karila has been nothing but helpful and informative through this whole process. It is nice to feel that you have someone helping fight for you when it feels like an entire company is against you. I have had no issues with her even remotely close to what is described by the previous reviewer and this seems to be her area of expertise. I would say she was the perfect choice for my needs. Just to clarify, the other side has gone through 4 lawyers because her excellent representation. I would say that is pretty good.

Reconsider if you're planning on retaining services, attorney agreed to write a settlement demand letter to my employer. Attorney agreed to write letter knowing I had no "right to sue" nor did I plan on closing case with DFEH. Attorney requested funds on a Tuesday, by Friday attorney informed me she could not write letter unless I provided her with "right to sue" from DFEH. The following week, I reminded attorney of agreement, then attorney told me she was charging me per minute for our conversation (something we never discussed). Following the conversation I decided to end our client/attorney relationship, I asked for my documents/funds back, she refused to return funds and told me I would have to wait 3 weeks before I could have my documents back. Huh? Her reasons for not returning funds, she reviewed documents and charged me for every conversation (minus free consultation). However, attorney never told me she was charging me for our calls, we only agreed to letter and the documents she reviewed were Workman Comp documents, a practice attorney does not specialize in. After being accused of being "under the influence" by attorney, I gave up and filed complaint with State Bar. Never compromise, just keep looking even if the offer is too good.

Ms. Karila represented me in a pregnancy discrimination case. The case went very well. She did an excellent job.
