I clearly remembered 3yrs ago I was told by a very known law firm that "i will NEVER be a US Citizen". The explanation given to me by the lawyer is not appropriate to me at all. I realized after all this years of being his client he don't know anything about my case, my history & why I sought his help. So, I never stopped seeking for answer. I decided to google "best lawyer in United States". I don't care anymore where, all I want is answer. Atty. Carl's name came out. So, me & my family flew to LA to see Atty. Carl. After listening to my story he re assured me right away. He told me that "you will apply for your citizenship and you will get it". I felt the sincerity to his voice. He assigned my case to Atty. As a former non US citizen I can only say Shusterman Attorneys provided a smooth, panic free, comprehensive service that was both reasonably priced with up front flat fees, fair payment schedule, and attorneys and staff totally knowledgeable and completely equipped to effortlessly handle my case successfully.
Pointless to go elsewhere, for any reason. My only quibble is that perhaps their paralegals could have been in touch about twice as much to keep me updated in a timely fashion. Had I not contacted them frequently, we may have run into some minor problems. That aside, simply all you could want at a fair price. I retained the Law Firm of Carl Shusterman to handle a most difficult immigration case of mine. I was working with Ellen Lee on removing my conditions of permanent residence based on good faith marriage. Ellen has been a shiny light in my life after my initial consultation. I had a storm of catastrophic lawyers I had previously consulted. Even though I was falling short of necessary documentary proof to demonstrate the good faith, Ellen took care of everything and was terrific in boiling down smallest details and information of the case to the essentials to present before USCIS. It was very extremely helpful to have Ellen guide me through the complex legal maze. Her ability to give personal attention to clients, work diligently with attention to details, write concisely and achieve results is striking. I had interview for my application and Ellen accompanied me during interview. Even though I was in east coast and she being in CA, did not make any difference or hamper our interaction while working on interview preparation. We had a different lawyer prior to Mr. Shusterman and we shopped for some time for a different lawyer we were never convinced until we talked to Mr. Shusterman during an interview, his 30 mins interview was a lot more valuable and fruitful than 2 years with other lawyers. We felt the difference right away as soon as we signed with him and he made us wonder what the previuos lawyer was doing wasting our time. My husband is a physician who faced some hardship during his paper work and J visa and Mr. Shusterman was our best decision ever. His office never let us down and you do feel the difference in the knowledge when answering questions. We felt the difference between our previuos lawyer's office and Mr. Shusterman's office right away I am so grateful to him we are few months away from citizenship. Success is absolutely achieved with the Shusterman legal team. Having gone through the grueling and tiresome process of obtaining my greencard attorney Ellen Lee and paralegal Ana Cruz were there throughout the entire process to work effictively and dilegently for positive results. They are truely problem solvers and no matter what changes I faced (which I did!) they were there to offer assistance and render any hicups or setbacks effectively. Both Ellen Lee and Ana Cruz were there to offer assistance throughout the 3 year journey for each step of the way and I can honestly say I could not have done it without them. My employer introduced Carl Shusterman for my Green Card Processing. I started my Green Card processing back in 2006 and received my EAD in 2007. Later, in 2009, I had an RFE for which Mr. Jay & Mr. Rajakrishna helped me prepare a proper response to the USCIS in a timely manner. I was very concerned about my case after the RFE but I had no follow-up from USCIS for RFE. In the month of June 2011, me & my wife received our Green Cards in the mail box. During this entire process, Mr. Jay & Mr. Rajakrishna were very prompt and have always updated about me about the immigration status and news. Mr. Jay has always adviced me about the EAD documents, travel documents whenever I needed. I had very good experience working with Mr. Jay. I hired Carl Shusterman's firm to get help with my parents' green card application. Initially, I had filed the application myself but soon I realized that this apparently ‘simple’ process required legal firepower due to various “Request for Evidence” (RFE) demands by INS that were cropping up like mushrooms after spring rains (“Prove that your father did not overstay in the USA when he came here 23 years ago” was one such RFE).
While there are a few competent attorney firms that deal with immigration matters, I chose Carl Shusterman based on his reputation and stellar reviews. I am happy to report that his firm did not disappoint me. I scheduled a call with Carl Shusterman himself initially. He came across as a calm and collected person. I signed the dotted paper, and was assigned attorney Raj Iyer and senior paralegal Judy Lu to my parents’ case. Both Raj and Judy worked diligently on my case for several months, responding to various “queries” that INS is so fond of sending. They both were very responsive via emails and phone to any questions or concerns I had. Raj Iyer even called up National Visa Center on my behalf many times to speak about a few tricky issues. Choosing the right attorney to represent you is as important as selecting a physician when you are sick. You don’t want to compromise on the quality in either situation. I had a great experience working with Mr Shusterman and his
associates especially Attorney Amy Prokop and Senior Paralegal Jay Pounders. I have previously hired two immigration attorneys for my case but I would not have got my Green Card if it was not for Mr Shusterman. My case became complicated due to an oversight by my previous attorney who filed my H1B extension about two weeks after it expired and then allowed me to travel on an Advance parole out of the country though according to the USCIS caculation I was out of status for 212 days thus subject to the three year bar. It took USCIS about 3 yrs to deny my first I485 but during that time my wife had travelled outside the country several times thus subjecting her to a 10 yr bar. I was unware of these issues initially since everytime we had to go I asked my attorney and got an okay from him. Once the denial came is when I got to know the issues and my attorney's response was that USCIS does not know what they are doing and it will be ok. In the next 3 yrs he filed two I485 and two Motions to reconsider or reopen, along with Advance parole and EAD with each I485. They were all denied and even with all this he let my wife travel on the Advance Parole. Shortly after USCIS put me in removal proceedings with a Immigration Court date within 10 days. At that point I contacted Mr Shusterman (on a Friday afternoon)and decided to change my attorney. He worked with me over that weekend going over the documents I faxed to his house and came up with an action plan. He was upfront with me stating that my case is very difficult and we might have to go to federal court with this and if I was ready for several years of waiting. Needless to say his brilliant action plan got my case terminated from the Immigration court and a few months later got me my Green Card. Thoughout the entire process he kept me completely informed of the steps he was taking and the reasons why they were necessary unlike my previous attorney. He is so through in his preparations that USCIS has no room to move in any other direction than what he wants them to move in. He anticipates all possible questions and is prepared with the answer before the question is even asked. If I had gone with him in the first place I am sure I would not have had any issues. A friend recommended Mr. Carl Shusterman for my immigration purposes. I was pleasantly surprised to not only find an awesome attorney, but a kind and considerate professional and expert in all issues about immigration. I had been consulted by some other lawyers in the past who always were running giving me only 15 minutes for interview and after that they almost pushing me out of the office. Mr. Shusterman never saw the clock and he never force to finish the interview. My appointment was supposed for 30 minutes but we took 50 minutes and I felt really comfortable because all my doubts were nicely clarified in the first interview.
Mr. Shusterman assigned to me their senior paralegal, Jay Pounders. Mr. Pounders has not only demonstrated competency in his knowledge of immigration matters but has won me over by his sensitivity to what an applicant goes through while trying to stay “legal” through this entire process. I had Ellen Lee and her paralegal Judy Lu work on my naturalization case. Out of a scale of 1 to 10, I give them a 11 - to show how impressed I am with their work. I don’t write reviews so this must say something about Ellen and this law firm. I am originally from Vegas and looked for a local attorney to handle my case but did not find any that I was impressed with till I stumbled on this website and read all of the positive feedback from clients of this law firm. My case is somewhat complex. After my first meeting with Ellen I learnt that she has extensive experience.
Ellen and Judy spent hours (if not days) assembling my extensive travel records and criss-crossing all the stamps in my passport. Ellen confidently prepared me for the interview and put me at ease. As expected, the interview went fast and was very relaxed. Ellen also explained to the interviewer the extensive supporting documents she compiled relating to my travel and the interviewer sounded impressed. However due to the amount of info the interviewer had to process she said she could not make a same day decision but promised to work on it the following day or two. Two weeks went by and I did not hear anything. There are two oath ceremonies scheduled each month and we passed still with no oath ceremony letter. Around Feb, I informed Ellen that since I have not heard from USCIS regarding the Mar 11th ceremony I was going to plan on a trip on Mar 8th and intend to be back before the next scheduled one. That’s when Ellen apologized for the unexpected delay and told me “they don’t know how to count” but did not elaborate. Anyway on Mar 8th when I was at the airport waiting for my outbound flight I was surprised with an email from Ellen saying that I have been scheduled for the Mar 24th oath ceremony! It was only at my meeting with Ellen before the ceremony for final instructions did she hand me a letter to keep as a “souvenir”. The USCIS made a decision in error and denied my application on grounds that I had broken the continuity of my residence with my many trips. I was given the opportunity to appeal and that I had to pay $650. Ellen took it up directly with the interviewer’s supervisor and told him about the mistake and that they had to correct the problem before the 30 day appeal period is up. The rest is history. Ellen did not even bother to tell me about the denial as she felt it was unnecessary to stress me and took care of the problem herself. In this business like any other business what you know and how you go about solving a problem in an efficient manner goes a long way in making things go smoothly. Based on this firm’s reputation and my personal experience with Ellen I can say look no further if you want a successful outcome on your immigration case. With the invaluable help of Carl Shusterman's team my wife and I fulfilled our dream of being together after being apart for several years. The immigration process is a very delicate matter and the paperwork needs to be presented properly, and when it is about being with your loved ones, you should only let the best in the business handle your case. The whole process from the moment I contacted them to the day my wife was with me with a CR1 residency visa in hand lasted about 1 year and 4 months, and during that time Maria was always on top of my case making sure all documents were submitted correctly and in time, including always being available when I called and with plenty of informative and useful emails. I searched the internet and found similar cases like us which has been denied I even consulted a lawyer before Mr. Shusterman who was so pessimistic and said your case is being denied in most USCIS offices now. My case was not a strong case for eb1b green card. My material is messy without focus in the beginning. Carl's associate helped me a great deal and my case was approved in 2 month without 'request for evidence'. Four things impressed me most during the filing preparation: 1. my lawyer helped me re-write some of the reference letters which made my contributions much more clear and evident 2. my lawyer organized my material in a way that is beyond beautiful 3. I got many key advices to avoid pitfalls, for example, the number of claims etc. and 4. my specific questions were always answered in a very timely fashion. My family’s personal experience working with them, however, made it more in-depth in realizing what really made this Law firm indeed successful and that is, the company’s most important resource – exceedingly dedicated workforce. My family had our F4 I-485 adjustment of status denied on Oct 29, 2010, reasoned as Canadians being in and out of the US triggerred unlawfully presense!!! We had consulted with different lawyers but none could get us the clear response, some even not taking our case for consideration. But thanks God, we found Mr. Shusterman's law firm and came for help on 11/15/2010. My fiancé and I were searching for an LA based law firm to help with the immigration petition for permanent residency through marriage. I had read a lot about this lengthy process and was not comfortable in undertaking such an important and document heavy job by myself. The reviews I had read about Shusterman's law firm were all very positive, and I was pleased to find that on our first consultation (with Carl himself, and all set up very promptly) that such reviews were all justified.
We were walked through the application process, and were given prompt feedback as to the nature of our application, which was quite a straight forward case, but it was reassuring to know they had handled hundreds of cases like ours in the past. We were assigned a para legal assistant who took us through the entire document filling / supporting info gathering process, and we had a complete package ready to go in approximate 2 months after we appointed Shusterman's as our attorney. Our para legal asssistant was very prompt in answering all of our questions, and gave us regular updates once our application was submitted. Once our interview time with DHS was confirmed we then had a briefing with lawyer who would be representing us on the day of the interview, which was helpful to prepare us. I am fortunate to have retained Mr Shustermans services when I applied for my green card in 1990. Because of his experience in working as an auditor for the INS, he was able to address specific issues regarding my status very effectively, resulting in the subsequent approval of my green card.
Specifically, I was married for a little over 2 years at the time but filed for a divorce a few months before meeting the minimum time required to qualify for the green card. Although it seems that I could have just waited another few months and "ride it out", it was necessary to leave my wife at the time, who had been physically abusive towards me for months. When we (Carl and I) met with the Audtior it was was apparent, that the marriage was in fact real, however, that the circumstances were very unfortunate and that it was necessary for me indeed to distance myself from my ex-wife for my safety. I was prepared to leave the country if I had to but was granted the green card instead. I am certain that due to the complicated nature of my case, it would have been nearly impossible to find another attorney who was willing to represent me. Mr Shusterman was able to make a clear case of spousal abuse to which no person should be subjected to, regardless of their nationality or immigration status. Another attorney had filed my papers for me. All I was told was that it will take a long time before I get my green card because of backlogs. I should not be calling their office, but they will call me instead. This was twenty years ago. Three years ago, I met Mr. Shusterman through a kababayan, and he informed me that I can keep up with the immigration news and priority dates through his website. He also told me that I do not need an attorney to educate me about Immigration, but I do need to wait until my priority date is reached. I was religious in checking the movement of the priority dates from his website. As a courtesy, his office informed me a couple of months before my priority date became current, so I asked Mr. Shusterman if his office can help me with my final papers. Ana Cruz, was the paralegal assigned to my case. She helped me with the paperwork June, 2010. In July I got my fingerprint notice, and in a couple of months, I received my Employment Authorization. In three months, I got my interview notice. I thank my lucky stars for my chance meeting with Mr. Shusterman. At that time he did not tell me, that I needed a lawyer nor that I should use his office. I was never in any pressure to hire him but because of his honesty, I told myself I would be stupid not to use their office. My interview went very smoothly. I was prepped and accompanied by Atty. Prokop. She was very kind, understanding, very helpful and knowledgeable. In ten days, my green card was approved and my life has turned around for the best. At the time I hired Carl Shusterman in 2006 to assist me with my application for US citizenship, I had been a Legal Permanent Resident (LPR). The most important issue that blocked my path to citizenship was the fact that I had lived a long, long long time out of the United Stated after becoming an LPR in 1971.
Acting on Mr. Shusterman's sage advice, I was able to collect documents that suggested I had intended to maintain family, social, and financial ties to the United States. Accompanied by one of Mr. Shusterman's staff immigration attorneys, I sailed through my citizenship interview and passed the citizenship test without difficulty. Many months later, the real value of the service Mr. Shusterman provides was highlighted when the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) had still refused to decide whether to grant my naturalization. USCIS hadn't decided on my case because the FBI had not completed its background check, notwithstanding the fact that USCIS is required by law to grant or deny citizenship applications within 120 days after completing the naturalization interview. With only weeks left left before my fingerprints for the FBI background check were to expire, (meaning that I would have to go to the back of the background-check line and wait all over again), Mr. Shusterman's crack litigation attorney, Amy Prokop came to the rescue. On my behalf, Ms. Prokop filed a petition for mandamus relief with US federal district court asking the court to order USCIS to make a decision on my citizenship application. The suit spurred the USCIS mandarins to make their decision. Thanks to Mr. Shusterman and Ms. Prokop, I was sworn in to become a proud US citizen. I was really impressed about all the actions done, step by step to get our green cards in such success. It was only Atty Carl Shusterman who advised me that the current priority date of my mother's petition could be based on my wife's country (Indonesia) which was earlier ahead compared to my country (Philippines). I am not very comfortable in writing English - and due to my health am having my daughter type this up for me. Although I personally never met with Mr. Carl Shusterman, my children met him and I met with his associate Ms. Ellen Ma Lee - an angel who saved me from my immigration nightmare, whom Atty. Shusterman recommended to me in his office to work with me. My situation was complicated for all the wrong reasons and even my own consulate did not help me, however, when my children approached Atty. Shusterman's office, he not only patiently granted them an audience, studied the case in its entire detail before suggesting the different options open to them, he assured them that the United States of America and the laws / legal system herein, was diligent enough to protect the rights of all its residents and citizens and their immediate relatives.
Attorney Shusterman put my case in the able hands of Atty Ellen Lee who worked very closely and persistently with my children to get all my paperwork together by suggesting the alternatives for the unavailability of certain documents (due to the fact there was no recordkeeping in India during the time of my birth etc.). I am a heart patient and have several health complications and when my 485 interview came up, I was extremely tense and worried since the general norm Is to grant approval without an interview. My children asked me not to worry since Atty. Lee would be here by my side to help represent my case to the adjudicating officer. Although the situation was a little worrisome, as my children informed me later, Atty. Lee just kept assuring me all along during the time of my prep that there was nothing to worry, even if I was not very comfortable speaking English, to tell the truth, to not deny my genuine ignorance on certain issues which led to the complexity of my case etc. She kept a keen eye on my health situation and was very perceptive of my feelings and anxiety. At the interview, I could not have asked for someone better to represent me, because she made me feel completely assured, by the easy manner in which she talked to the Adjudicating officers, presented the problems with the corrupt bureaucracy in my country, and what were the possible options and all the documentation we had provided etc. Needless to say, the officers were convinced of my helpless situation and I truly thank the US of A for being so supportive of its citizens and residents, and after a new technology test that they asked me to undergo, which proved my position, as suggested by Atty. Lee based on her knowledge of the system, my case was approved and I received my Green Card last week, less than eight months from the date of my application. My children found Atty. Shusterman on Google in their search of top immigration attorneys in 2006, after some local bay area immigration consultants and attorneys swindled us of a lot of money and yet almost botched up my case. It is amazing how many people there are out there willing to take your money and lie to you about your options. I had used another law firm to start my green card application and basically was in a holding pattern for what seemed like forever. I had to go through the labor certification process which, being from CA, put me in a long line while waiting. Communication with that law firm was minimal and they just kept putting me off or brushing off my concerns about what seemed like an excessive amount of time waiting. They just didn't seem to be on top of anything. Lo and behold, that law firm closed down. I was in an absolute panic wondering what was going to happen to my application...would I have to start all over again, it was already 4.5-5 years into the process, where was my paperwork even if I could find another lawyer?

I came to visit my girlfriend as a tourist and we decided to get married. I would say that the communication throughout the process was good, and the case was much easier than what we had heard it would be like. In fact we got married at the end of November and on 03/17th my green card was approved. My wife and I only consulted with other lawyers before deciding who we would hire. We found unprofessional people along the way, others being totally dark about the fact that we had not followed the k1/3 procedure. I am a teacher who came to the States on a Visiting Scholar visa. My school district was very happy with my work and agreed to sponsor me for an H1B visa first and then for my permanent residence application. Since the very beginning of the whole process, Mr. Shusterman was always available for any important consultation. Mr. Shusterman explained all the application processes and their requirements very clearly. He and his associates did also provide very clear information regarding fees and other costs. At any time did I have any bad surprise regarding the process fees, no matter how long the process would take. Mr. Shusteman's assistants took care of all the minor details: Ms. Judith Lu did a phenomenal job providing all the paperwork and information to my school district. She has always been available for any consultation. She made the whole process absolutely easy to understand and follow for me and my district's HR department. I just simply did not have to worry at all about any paperwork or any piece of information. Ms. Lu was literally always available to answer and ready to compile, send, or fax any necessary documents.
In my particular case, I had to apply for several renewals of my H1B visa while completing my permanent residence application. Mr. Shusterman and Ms. Lu did an excellent job in explaining and coordinating all the details of both processes. They guided me and my district's HR department through every single step. Both, Mr. Shusterman and Ms. Lu did not hesitate to contact my district's HR representatives to clarify any point. Wayback 2005, my wife was working in an agency as a traveling nurse when unfortunately the immigration found some inconsistencies in the part of the her employer who has no enough evidence to support financially all 10 sponsored nurses for their immgration status. She showed very knowledgable in immigration laws and prepared very strong petition letters for my case and response to RFE. I must mention the wonderful Paralegal Ms. Susan Zhang. She even actively searched the Internet to get more supporting files to make my case stronger. I do not think all paralegals could do that, and most of they just give you a list to show what you need to prepare. They replied the email and phones in timely fashion, and followed up my case responsibly. My case is not very strong, but I and my family obtained our green cards in about one year. Without their wonderful help, it is impossible. BTW, I can make the payment month by month. That was awesome also.

I met with Mr. Shusterman while my wife and myself were attending a medical society conference in San Francisco in May 2003. Mr. Shusterman was a speaker at one of the sessions relating to immigration for foreign medical graduates. After the session, my wife and myself “accosted” Mr. Shusterman and we spent the next half an hour chatting on immigration possibilities and challenges for foreign medical graduates. What impressed me the most at that time was that Mr. Shusterman was willing to spend time with us totally unaware that we were looking for an immigration lawyer. At that point, we were deliberating between Mr. Shusterman’s firm and another immigration law firm from Washington D.C. but our meeting with Mr. Shusterman that day clinched the deal in his favor.
I must say, I have never regretted that decision! Over these past 6 years, Mr. Shusterman’s immigration firm has helped us process my J-1 Waiver application followed by H-1B application (initial and thereafter renewal processing), green card application, and most recently helping me with traveling to India with H-1B Visa application at one of the US Consulates. Navigating through the myriad requirements of immigration paperwork can be a daunting and nerve racking task as any applicant going through all these will admit. What gave me peace of mind was that I knew that I had one of the premier immigration law firms in United States behind me! Mr. Shusterman assigned to me their senior paralegal and office manager, Judith Lu, MBA. Ms. Lu has not only demonstrated competency in her knowledge of immigration matters but has won me over by her sensitivity to what an applicant goes through while trying to stay “legal” through this entire process. Sharing stories with my other physician friends (who have worked with other immigration law firms), I realize how lucky I am in not having to worry about reminding Ms. Lu about my H-1B status expiring or for that matter when to process paperwork relating to compliance with “employment in an underserved area” and so forth. She has been on top of things in terms of not only sending reminders well ahead of time but also reminding me time and again as to what documents we would need for us to move through the next process. I still remember the time when we were working with deadline looming for filing for changing to immigrant status. I was worried about a certain document and this was Friday evening. It was past 5pm PT and I called her office frantic and she picked up the phone and assured me that all the paperwork was proper and that the application was going out on time. I was so relieved! There have been other occasions over these years when I needed to speak with her and she has been nice enough to call me back/email me within the same/next day. While, I understand that Ms. Lu has the other staffers from Shusterman’s Law Firm help her to make this entire experience as seamless and smooth as possible for us yet I cannot but appreciate some of her personal touches. She is extremely prompt in responding to emails and the reason why I appreciate that is that she would not only respond within the same day but that the emails would be detailed enough to help me understand what needs to be done. There have been so many occasions when I will ask for clarification and she will get back to me promptly without sounding condescending (and yes she does not charge for the emails either!). We first met Mr. Carl Shusterman at his office, on May 11th 2006. He along with his esteemed staff were very kind, answered all our questions diligently with extreme confidence. I came to the US on my B1 visa and changed my status to H1B when a public school district sponsored my work visa. Satisfied with my classroom performance, my school district sponsored my immigrant petition, starting with labor certification application. A lawyer, who claimed to practice immigration law, processed my labor certification through the PERM process and it was a total disaster! It was kind of a hit-and-miss process because he was not familiar with the new PERM application. Moreover, I had to do all the legwork of contacting newspaper companies and placing advertisements. I even had to do the layout and wording of the Sunday ads. My first PERM applicaton was denied because it was filed just one day over the 180-day time frame. I was forced to stick it out with this lawyer because I had already paid him his $4000 professional fee. My second PERM application was approved but there was an error in my work description because I was a Physics teacher but the PERM approval stated that I was a Math teacher. I pointed out the mistake to him when I first got a copy of the PERM approval. But he assured me that I should not worry about it anymore since USCIS will not question what the Dept of Labor had already approved. My priority date became current in 2007 and I applied for my green card together with my family. By this time we had spent around $10,000 already and had waited for four years. I was totally shocked when, one day, USCIS sent me a letter denying my immigrant petition since I was not qualified as a Math teacher but was actually Physics teacher. It was that very error that I had pointed out to my immigration lawyer when I first got a copy of my PERM approval. My lawyer prepared an affidavit, stating that it was just a typographical error, and he even had the guts to ask for a $300 fee for preparing a document to correct the error that he had made. To cut the long story short, my immigrant petition was revoked and my green card application was denied.
With my 6th year work visa limitation within the horizon, I was getting desperate. So I scheduled an appointment with Atty Shusterman and he was very honest with me. He didn't give me those empty promises that everything will be easy. He advised me to start the PERM process all over again. A competent associate specialing in PERM and work visas together with a methodical paralegal were assigned to my case. My PERM and petition for a nonimmigrant worker were approved and I was able to extend my work visa beyond the 6-year limits. The whole process was done professionally and the law firm did all the legwork. Now I am just waiting for my priority date to become current so I can apply for a green card. Reflecting on my past experience, I should have started off with Shusterman's Law Firm. I thought hiring my first immigrant lawyer would save me a few thousand dollars. In the end, I wasted around $10,000 in the process and worst of all, wasted precious time. My family and I would have been green card holders by this time had Atty Shusterman handled my case. So if you are looking for a competent, honest and experienced immigration lawyer and want to receive professional service, you should see Atty Carl Shusterman. He doesn't give you any empty promises, but tells you the hard facts and what you need to do. His team of lawyers are very competent and will personally attend to your case. I was referred to Mr. Carl Shusterman after I found myself with an expired visa and some serious immigration trouble, and another firm couldn't help me. Mr. Shusterman quickly devised a detailed and thorough plan that his team, including Elif Keles and Judy Lu, then executed to perfection. Ms. Keles prepared me for and attended a court appearance with me, and it all went very smoothly. Once the visa problem was resolved, Ms. Lu also guided me through the green card process. She was extremely well organized, kept me informed, and was always prompt and thorough in answering my questions. I now have green card in hand!! Save yourself some time, some money, and a lot of heartache. Go see Carl. I recently brought my Chinese wife to America. Everything was flawless. No requests for more info. An interview with the American embassy that was successfully concluded in 10 minutes. It was actually sad to see about 20 women come out from the interview before her - they were trying not to cry. Carl has been doing this for a few decades. He knows things the average person would never know. That's why I say save some money. Trying to do it a few times by yourself will most likely result in trouble. It costs more to fix trouble than it does to do a correct immigration.
Carl also has an amazing team to back him up. Judy Lu handled our case because my wife was Chinese. Judy immigrated here almost 30 years ago from China. She's been doing this for almost 30 years. She knows everything about the process, but more importantly she knows everything about the immigration system and people. She knows what they want to see, she knows what makes them suspicious. It was a very tough time for me having used some very so called prominent lawyers in the past for my H1 B and nothing was happening. He was able to get me out of the hole and subsequently get my EAD , Travel Parole and Green Card. We just got our citizenship on the 5th year anniversary of Green Card! We (my spouse and I) recently got our Green cards approved, Mr. Shusterman’s office representing as our attorney. After being stuck in the black hole of immigration backlog for many years, we had almost given up hope for any resolution soon, till we got in touch with Mr. Shusterman, who assured us that cross-chargeability would work in our case and that there was light at the end of the tunnel. The previous attorney firm that was working on my immigration matters were not very knowledgeable. They were okay but did not have a thorough understanding of all immigration matters and were not very reciprocal. I happened to find Mr. Shusterman and his firm through the internet. Right from day one, Mr. Shusterman listened to me patiently and advised me on options. All the paralegals are very knowledgeable as well. Attorney Lee spoke to me initially and later Attorney Rajkrishna guided me through my immigration matters.

Me and my wife have just been approved for the permanent residency and I just can't express how relieved that the long ordeal and wait is finally over. I got my greencard more than 10 years ago. Before I reached Mr. Shusterman I had met 22 lawyers and none of them knew that I could be a permanent resident in this country. When I went to his office it didn't take even 10 minutes for him to tell me that I will be receiving a greencard within that year. I cannot forget how light my shoulders felt!! I found Mr Shusterman and his firm after researching the internet. I have used several immigration lawyers in the past, for H-1 visa, green card, etc. This time, I needed a super heavy weight immigration attorney because USCIS denied my naturalization application and started deportation procedures (for reasons I will keep private). He was very direct from the beginning and his fee structure was simple and comparable to other law firms of less fame. Long story short, Mr Shusterman and his team where able to reverse both immigration decisions and I am now a US citizen. While elated, I was also shocked at the result because of the way USCIS presented the issues to me. It takes a rare lawyer to be able to succeed in reversing BOTH such decisions. My family and I were former clients of Mr. Carl Shusterman and I can honestly say that he had a tremendous impact on our lives- a very positive one. My husband and I were marred August 2005 and initiated our Application for permanent residence with Carl through the phone interview in early October of 2005. We had regular and clear communication via email with a very competent and helpful paralegal named Gale. Gale was very obliging in answering any and all questions she could answer, for myself and my husband who were completely new to most immigration technicalities. At any time she could not answer our questions due to legal protocol, she would forward our question to be promptly answered by our attorney Ellen for legal advice.
When initial applications, medical examinations, and affidavits had begun processing, the firm advised us that a fee increase with USCIS was going into effect in short notice and they helped us to get everything filed before the increased fees would be incurred. When the final drafts of applications for our signature had a typo, the firm paid for all Fed-Ex overnight expenses to have the forms corrected, re-sent to us for signature, and returned Fed-Ex overnight in order to be filed before the fee increase would affect us. At each personal meeting with our Attorney, and throughout the interview process at INS, Ellen Lee was straight forward, knowledgeable, personable, and professional. She made the very daunting and difficult processes run smooth and simply. When we arrived at our interview with sweaty palms and nerves a wreck, her expertise and optimism assured us of what we were to find out shortly: that our entire process had been in the very best hands. Within the short span of 5 months, my husband received work permit, and a green card.
