Micah’s practice focuses on the representation of victims of identity theft and consumers with credit reporting issues. His practice is 100% litigation exclusively in federal court.
Micah regularly litigates against the “big three” nationwide consumer reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian and Trans Union) under federal consumer protection statutes, such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA).
Micah was born in Dallas, Texas and earned his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Texas, at Dallas, cum laude, in 2000. He earned his juris doctorate from the Cumberland School of Law in 2005. While at Cumberland, he received the Peer Scholarship Award and served as an Associate Justice on the Honor Court.
Micah is admitted to practice law in Alabama and Texas. He is also admitted to the following federal courts: District of Colorado; Northern District of Alabama; Middle District of Alabama; Southern District of Alabama; Northern District of Texas; Eastern District of Texas; Southern District of Texas; United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has also been admitted on motion to other federal courts across the country, including Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
Micah has represented thousands of victims of data breaches in nationwide class actions and in multi-district litigation (MDL). He represented named class representatives in the following MDLs, including: In re Countrywide Financial Corp. Customer Data Security Breach Litigation, MDL No. 1998; In re TJX Companies Retail Security Breach, MDL No. 1838; and In re Department of Veterans (VA) Affairs Data Theft Litigation, MDL No. 1796.
Micah maintains offices in Birmingham, Alabama and Dallas, Texas. Attorneys from all over the US regulalry refer Fair Credit Reporting Act cases to Mr. Adkins. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, Alabama Association for Justice, Atlanta Bar Association, Birmingham Bar Association, Collin County Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, Houston Bar Association, and the National Association of Consumer Advocates.
