In 2007, I returned from two years of service in the Peace Corps to find that my mother had been undergoing changes I was not aware of while overseas. It turned out she had progressed to a moderate stage of dementia and was in an unhealthy situation at home. Over the next year, I had to have her formally diagnosed, take control of her personal affairs, and move her to an ALF.
Fortunately, the director at the ALF recommended April Hill as a resource I should engage to assist in managing my mother's affairs, which I did starting in 2008. April proved to be invaluable and worth every dollar it cost to retain her services. She provided all the guidance necessary to procure the government's VA benefits to which my mother was entitled as well as to set up a plan for her long term care, including the eventual need for her transition to an excellent nursing home and enrollment in Medicaid when the increased cost of the nursing home exceeded my mother's financial assets.
Not only is April highly knowledgeable and dedicated, she's caring and compassionate in those times of trouble with elderly relatives, which is so important and appreciated.

Frustrated over the the health care system, the team at Hill Law Group could not have been more helpful and professional. With my mother in Florida, and I living out of state the Life Care Planning concept kept me focused and organized, not to mention well informed. Being a registered nurse from out of state, working with the Client Nurse Advocate made communications easy. Most importantly Mom is pleased with the outcome and we have peace of mind.

While I am a personal injury attorney, I am also a CLIENT of April Hill. April handled my estate planning and did a wonderful job - I couldn't be happier! Thanks again, April. You've made me feel comfortable knowing that my affairs are in order and that my family will be taken care of.

APRIL HILL IS A PLEASURE TO DO BUSINESS WITH. HER AND HER STAFF ARE VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. WHEN YOU WALK IN TO THE OFFICE YOU FEEL AT HOME. HER #1 CONCERN WAS: WHAT WAS BEST FOR OUR SON AND THAT WAS WHAT WAS IMPORTANT TO US. SHE HANDLED ALL OF THE POWER OF ATTORNEYS FOR US BUT AS FAR AS THE TRUST FUND IT WAS BETTER FOR HIM TO GO WITH A SPECIAL NEEDS TRUST. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER TO YOU. HER AND HER STAFF ARE DOWN TO EARTH BUT YET VERY PROFESSIONAL.I WOULDNT THINK TWICE ABOUT USING HER AGAIN.

I am a widow with family scattered across the country and busy with their own careers and families. In other words, my sons can't come running when something happens to Mom.
I used to worry a lot about the mental deficits that often come with aging. Now I feel completely secure with April Hill as my Power of Attorney. When I'm no longer able to manage alone, she will make sure my wishes are followed and my needs are met. She has all the information necessary to do this, because she knew what questions to ask me in the beginning.
My questions were answered promptly and fully, not in "legalese," but in language I could easily understand. April explained fully the rationale behind every suggestion she made. She never rushed me into any decision, but took all the time necessary to make sure I understood the choices I was making.
I recently recommended April to an elderly friend, and April has exceeded even my very high expectations in her care of my friend.
In my view, April is an honest attorney who is super-smart and who puts her whole heart into taking the best possible care of her clients. She has also assembled a knowledgeable and extremely competent staff who have demonstrated their dedication to handling each case with the utmost care.
I believed it was important to find a Certified Elder Law Attorney to do my estate planning, even though my assets are not significant. In April Hill I found not only the knowledge and expertise I expected, but integrity, insight, and the heart of a caring friend and ally.
