Scott Peterson founded D’Orazio Peterson, LLP to provide representation to individuals in employment and serious injury matters.
Scott attended Albany Law School, where he served as a Managing Editor on the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology. Prior to opening his own firm, he worked for two Albany-based law firms, where he focused his practice on litigation in the areas of construction, medical malpractice, employment law and serious injury cases.
In addition to providing frequent legal commentary for local and national media outlets, Mr. Peterson has also been published in the New York Law Journal as well as elsewhere, and has represented plaintiffs in both the State and Federal courts throughout New York State. He current writes an “Employment Litigation” column for the Saratoga County Bar Association newsletter, and serves on the Executive Committee of the NY State Bar Association Trial Lawyers Section. In 2013, Scott was selected to the Upstate New York Super Lawyers List in the field of Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Litigation.
In his free time, Scott spends time with his family and enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and playing golf. He also enjoys giving back to his community: he is a current board member of the Saratoga Affordable Housing Group, volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center Junior Committee. Finally, Scott uses his prominence in the New York legal community to speak with and educate young students about the law and their roles in society, and donates time to serve as a mock judge/advisor in local mock trials.

In contacting Scott Peterson's office to discuss an employment case, I was impressed by the professionalism and immediacy with which his staff responded to my queries. Mr. Peterson called me the very next day to discuss my concerns. His objective responses to my questions gave me peace of mind. You c...

Had to give a star to provide a review, would have given no star. Called them about an employment issue, was looking to hire him. Scott listened to me, explained the process, had me fill out a questionnaire and said he would get back to me by the end of the day. Heard absolutely nothing. I called at ...
First, let me personally apologize for the negative experience that you had with our firm. We receive many calls from individuals, and try very hard to give everyone who calls a positive experience from beginning to end. Because we take feedback and our reputation very seriously we have investigated your situation and your statement that you did not receive a phone call back for over a month. Our firm keeps a comprehensive database of all calls received and communications sent to potential clients. Our records indicate that you contacted the firm on January 20, 2016 and spoke with our assistant. After the initial call you were forwarded a questionnaire as well as a free copy of our book discussing common problems in the workplace. Please note that absent impending time deadlines there is always a brief turn around period to allow our firm time to review the questionnaire, consider any potential legal issues and perform a conflict of interest check. Our records indicate that our assistant contacted you on January 29, 2016 in order to schedule a follow up consultation. At that time you told him that you had already retained another attorney to handle your situation. We certainly apologize for the nine day turn around in this instance. Such a delay is both unusual and inexcusable. We are happy to hear that you were able to get your situation resolved.

I worked with Scott several years ago on a personal case and he was very helpful and knowledgable regarding my situation. He gave me excellent advice and was very responsive to my needs as a client, often calling or emailing me back on his off hours. He helped me gain the confidence I needed to pur...

My daughter and I were in a car accident where the other driver was at fault and Scott took excellent care of our claim and got us the best settlement. He took care of the insurance companies and everything else. Highly recommended.
"I endorse this lawyer. While working on opposing sides of a matter Scott was fair to deal with while also representing his client zealously. It was obvious that his client's well-being was paramount."
"Scott is a tireless advocate for his clients and I would recommend using him without hesitation. He has become the go to Labor and Employment lawyer in the Capital Region."
"Scott knows a ton about employment law and is very easy to speak to. He has a number of great videos at his website. He'll tell you whether or not you have a claim and, if so, whether or not you really need a lawyer. You can trust him to work with you to get a strategy that is right for your life"
