Description: Defendant had been indicted along with another individual charged with selling heroine in a Newark apartment building. Defense motion to sever Mr. Spragley for trial was granted, and first defendant to stand trial was Spragley. Following Jury trial where Mr. Spragley took the stand and testified on his own behalf, the Jury quickly reached a verdict, finding client NOT GUILTY thereby fully vindicating our client. In subsequent case involving co-defendant represented by other counsel, the second Jury convicted the co-defendant, who received a sentence of State Prison.
