I am currently the chief legal advisor of Morale Consultants based in Beijing, China.  Morale Consultants is a boutique consulting firm specialized in legal and business advisory services to small and medium-sized enterprises, both local and multinational.  It takes a liberal form of collaboration of specialists and professionals in a variety of industries, which fact enables it to effectively advise its clients on cross border investment (inbound and outbound), international business transactions, formation of business entities and their daily operation and management as well as disputes resolution. 

I have a strong legal background: a LL.M. graduate of the University of Utah College of Law (USA), a LL.B. graduate of the Northwest University of Politics & Law (PRC), and a training certificate receiver on common laws from the University of Melbourne Law School.  I am admitted to both thePeople’s Republic of China and the New York State Bar. 

Before establishing Morale Consultants, I was the resident partner of a large Chinese law firm’s Shanghai Office leading its international practice team.  I also practised with some prestigious international law firms.  I am one of the few Chinese lawyers having international legal education and multi-jurisdictional bar admissions, having practised with both Chinese and international prestigious law firms, and having both contentious and non-contentious experience.     

My practice focuses on international investment, international business transactions, corporate advisory, cross-border disputes resolution, shipbuilding and private equity & venture capital.  In the past over 10 years, I assisted a number of multinational companies in successfully making major investments in China through direct investment or assets purchase or merger and acquisition, and doing business in China.  I also extensively advised them on practical operational and compliance matters under Chinese laws.  In recent years, I also frequently advised Chinese companies on investing overseas including US, Canada and Australia. 

In addition to my practice as a proficient and experienced legal advisor, I regularly speaks and lectured at many international events and seminars on various topics of my expertise, which enables me to expose to international business and to gain a keen and broad international vision.  In 2005, as the chief Chinese law expert at the biggest HongKong law firm, I was invited to join the delegation led by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR to visit Europe and to speak on Chinese legal environment/framework to international investors.  In 2010, I was awarded Australian Leadership Award-Fellowship and sponsored by theAttorney General Department and Law Council of Australia to visit, lecture and work in the most prestigious firms in Australia.  In 2012, I was invited by the Canadaian Embassy to China to speak in a roadshow across major Canadian cities to Canadian investors on Chinese legal system.  I also had a number of publications on relevant topics.  

In addition to my legal career, I'm the President of the University of Utah Alumni Association China Club, and an adjunct professor at the College of Law, Renmin University (China's top law school).
