Samantha J Hazel

I had a very disappointing experience with attorney Samantha Hazel. She was unresponsive for long periods despite multiple emails, missed scheduled in-person meetings, and arrived unprepared for a call. She admitted to being unavailable due to personal reasons, which caused delays, and initially clai...med she had the capacity to take on my case but later made excuses to delay filings, making the process frustrating. After I terminated her services, she sent unprofessional and repetitive emails justifying her actions. She also claimed I was "rude" to her, which I found unwarranted. Overall, I felt her conduct was unprofessional, unhelpful, and she did not provide the services I paid for. I do not recommend her based on my experience.

Hired Samantha to represent me in my divorce. At first, she seemed very competent and was able to tell me what I needed to do. After the retainer was signed and the money was paid, things went downhill quickly. She forgot dates, told me that I didn't need to show up for a court date, but called me... at the last second to attend and gave me bad advice that affected my time with my children which cost me two and half years to rectify with another attorney and another 25K. I have no respect for her approach or the way that she conducts herself professionally. Having her as counsel was a complete boondoggle.

I am truly thankful for Samantha Hazel’s work on my cases. She is knowledgeable and experienced. I have an abusive ex-husband who has worked hard to take me to court over and over. His goal has been to harass, intimidate, and bankrupt me. She has protected me from my ex-husband’s trickery and lies i...n court. She has diligently worked to protect my children from him. She has always appeared in court on-time, prepared and professional. Her staff is dependable and responds in a timely matter when I have questions. She has gone the extra mile for us. I have already recommended Samantha Hazel to a friend and I will continue to refer her to others.

I was referred to Mrs. Hazel by a friend who had had a similar experience with his ex-wife being spiteful and petty... to the point of trying to use the children as leverage. Divorce is ugly. It's a messy, nasty business, often revealing character at its most vulnerable and desperate. So I was surpri...sed by some of the other reviews here. Like my friend, I found Mrs. Hazel to be my staunchest advocate throughout the whole ordeal. Highly capable, she never missed or rescheduled an appointment, obviously knows the ins and outs of the law and courts, and it should go without saying, she's highly intelligent. She was very attentive to my case and showed an empathy I didn't think lawyers had. (small joke, well, sort of...) It might not seem like a big deal, but it was very important to me, to be able to see my kids over Memorial Day weekends. It's a weekend that means a lot to us... Long story short, she made that happen. What I found most capable about Mrs. Hazel was her directness. Assertive and confident, I can see why some people could be put off by forward-leaning demeanor. But isn't that what you want in an attorney? Someone who will go to bat for you? I know I did and it was the right decision.
