Got a felony hit and run - damages were just 57 dollars

I got a felony 9 years ago for a hit and run whereas the damages were a mere 57 dollars ! Who gets a felony for this ? I did have prior misdemeanours- yes. But the victim had only a 57 dollar medical bill. She infact didn't understand why they were doing this to me. I did not understand it either...! I didn't understand the legal jargon Phil Was using and asked if I could record our talks. He absolutely would not let me. I just wanted to go home and look up the "Leagal speak " he was using. To this day I do not understand how anyone can get a felony hit and run where the damages were only 57 dollars ! He would not volunteer any information either. I had to pay 10 grand ! He said that was the cost for a felony. The legal firm he worked for said they all charge that much. I found out later that was not true ! Wow. What a mistake to have Phil represent me !

While it is difficult to respond to something that may have happened 9 years ago, I am sorry to hear that any former client is unhappy with my services, even if I did everything I could given the facts of a case. Since this occurred when I was an employee at another law firm, I should also clarify that any fee paid was decided by my employer at the time.

Excellent Defense Lawyer

Phillip is an excellent defense lawyer that was a thorough resource for someone who this was their first brush with the law. He and his assistant Richard were there for me throughout my long and arduous dismissal process that ended up taking over 14 months. He was thorough, precise, and available whe...n needed. He explained the in's-and-out's of my situation and his plan to dismiss my case in a manner that was easy to understand for someone who does not speak "legal-ese". While I would not wish legal issues upon any of my friends and family, I would recommend Phillip in a heartbeat.

helped me one year later

I hired Phil to represent me on two different cases with multiple charges it was a pretty complex case seeing as how I am on probation from another state when I received the new charges Phil and Richard were absolutely amazing professional and constantly in contact with me. they worked with my husb...and as well to make sure everyone understood everything that was going on at all times. Things were all reduced to what I consider the absolute minimum in the end and I was extremely happy with everything Phil was able to accomplish for me. One year after court I encountered an issue in obtaining my drivers license back, I called Phil just to find out if he knew the answers to the questions and he began helping me out in every way he could, he did not ask for more money before helping me out, he did not brush me off, he simply jumped on board and did everything he could. I pray that I never need representation again but should I ever find myself or anyone I love or care about and need I would 100% recommend Phil Shanahan.

Excellant Attorney

Hiring Phil Shanahan as our Criminal attorney was one of the best decisions we could have made. Mr. Shanahan and his Paralegal Richard were always willing and able to answer any and all of our questions. If they did not have the answer immediately they both worked hard to find the answer and got back... to us as quickly as possible and in a reasonable amount of time. They were very knowledgeable with regards to all rules as well as the procedures of our case, and they were always able to answer our questions in such a way which made sense to us. Phi Shanahan and Richard Hall showed integrity, honesty and compassion throughout our case. I would strongly recommend Mr. Shanahan to anyone seeking legal counsel.

" Simply the best"

Let's hypothetically say the Andy Griffith show had to have a lawyer in its perfect little town of Mayberry, Phil Shanahan would be that guy. At the first moment Of walking into his office there is a sense of calm and understanding to each individuals circumstance. Phillip Shanahan prides himself ...at surrounding his office with the most elite knowledgeable staff and always goes the extra mile at helping you understand all of the details in your case. Mr. Shanahan is not prejudice or bias and always helps you feel at ease when you're at a high stress level due to a criminal matter. I am very happy with the work Phil and his staff did for me during my process of overcoming my DUI. I feel I just didn't get a lawyer out of the deal I got a friend too. Thank you Phil, for all your hard work. Sincerely, KD
