Everyone at the Coquat Law firm was so experienced and professional in handling my speeding ticket. While passing through a small town I got pulled over by their sheriff. He was going to make me pay an enormous fine, take a driving class, be on a probationary licence and I later found out that he had... tried to fine me for driving by myself with only a permit instead of a licence (I had a licence, I'm 21 years old for petes sake). I called the Coquat Law firm and Elaine and Justin worked tirelessly to lower my fines and ease my sentense. After appearing in court for me they worked with the judge and prosecutor and talked them down to a very reasonable small fine. i was very pleased and didn't have to worry about the whole ordeal. i'll definately call them again if i ever get pulled over. they know their stuff!!!!

Reliable, Trustworthy, Fair, Superb Attorney! I am eternally grateful to Monetta Elaine Burgess (Elaine) at The Coquat Law Firm for her incredible representation. Of course, a simple thank you and this limited comment space fall short of what I really would like to say and write with respect to the w...onderful, timely, and professional way in which I was helped. I am not from here, but I have been travelling here to visit family and friends since the eighties. For some reason, starting late last year, I started getting traffic citations, which is something that had never happened in all of these years that I have been travelling back and forth here. I had heard of crazy, off-the-wall incidents about folks were getting traffic citations in the weirdest ways, but as the saying goes … I never thought it would happen to me. At any rate, it did; twice. Being from another state and the fact that I was driving someone else’s car (both times) upset me and scared me something fierce. Lack of knowledge of the court/legal system, the uncertainty of the situation, and the mean-spiritedness of the public servants absolutely stress you out. However, being represented by Elaine can alleviate all of that. She is brilliant and phenomenal! Briefly stated: 1) The flat rate quoted is the rate that was charged. She did not play the money games that so many other lawyers play, especially dealing with someone from out of town, 2) She responded to my inquiries in a timely manner and immediately took over my cases (two different cases at two different times), 3) Communication via the telephone and electronically through email was acceptable and that made things so much easier for me including receiving payment receipts via email (so commendable because it would have been difficult for me to go into their office), 4) Elaine communicated often and was very clear and precise in those communications, 5) She kept me informed every step of the way; I did not have to guess what was going on, 6) She was tenacious and stuck with the case no matter what. Elaine had to go to court on one of the cases more than twice, but she never complained to me at all … and she NEVER tried to increase the quoted rate, which you know some other lawyer from some other law firm would have done, 7) I was shown kindness, compassion, and concern (which goes a long way when you are feeling scared and stressed because of the horrible situation in which you find yourself), 8) When the cases were resolved, I received instant notification from Elaine, 9) Both cases were dismissed so neither the person whose car I was driving or I will lose points on our driving records or have our insurance rates go up because of the two traffic citations. In fact, for one of the cases, 2 charges were packed into one citation; however, one of those charges was totally dismissed! With regard to the 2nd charge on that same citation, I was given a 30-day deferred disposition and I had to pay a greatly reduced fine plus court costs which saved me financially. The second case dealing with a completely different citation was totally dismissed with no fine or probation or deferment at all. So choosing Elaine to represent me in court saved money and time and alleviated the apprehension, fear and uncertainly of the situation in which I found myself. The shear brilliance of Elaine shows not only what a terrific, keen, and determined attorney she is, but she represents her firm well. I highly recommend Elaine to anyone with traffic tickets/citgations. In my opinion, Elaine is such a consummate professional that you know her awesomeness carries over into her other areas of service. I hope that I never have to use her again to represent me on a traffic issue here, but if I do I will definitely call her.
