Without him I would be in jail now

Baum was my lawyer for a case where the police raided a house where I stay at. I got charged for things that wasn't mine. They found some CDS and a gun in someone else room and said it was mine. I got charges for CDS Possession and for the gun. I also had a probation that got violated when I caught... the new case. I know that in Baltimore a gun case can send you to jail for a long time and the state attorney don't want to drop them. I was real scared that I was going to have to take a plea and would violate probation. Baum said I shouldn't take any deal. He came in and worked on it and got the whole case dismissed. He had to postpone the case one time which I did not like but then he got it fixed. He said that the mail with my name on it that the police found inthe house was not evidence they could use to show that the CDS and gun was mines. I was in jail for another ten days and the my probation violation got dismissed too. I can say that wthout Baum on the case that I would be in jail right now and not able to watch my kids grow up.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"Matt and I were co-workers and he has represented co-defendants in cases where I am also representing someone. I have sent him cases and will do so in the future. I call him for advice and trust him completely. He is knowledgeable and clever. Many of the endorsements on AVVO are by attorneys who actually don't even know the person they are endorsing. Look on other attorneys' pages and you will see that they are being endorsed by people in other states and other fields of law. That is merely a trick to get a higher rating. This endorsement is not a trick. I know Matt Baum, I have seen him try dozens of cases with my own eyes. He is a great lawyer."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
