About Luis
Biography
Luis graduated from South Texas College of Law in Houston. Following law school, he worked with a prominent criminal defense and family law firm before becoming an Assistant District Attorney in Travis County (Austin), Texas. Luis was one of the youngest Assistant District Attorneys in Travis County at the time he was hired and he quickly gained valuable experience trying tough felony cases in Austin. Luis prosecuted cases involving everything from toxic waste polluters to serial arsonists and major sex offenders. In 2007, Luis decided to fulfill his dream of founding his own law firm and worked as a criminal defense attorney and family lawyer in Houston. Most recently, Luis Midence and Matt Skillern, a skilled family lawyer, teamed up and founded Midence & Skillern. Midence & Skillern, PLLC is proud to provide quality criminal defense and family law representation under one roof.

Generally using Luis through my divorce was not to my advantage. Throughout the case it felt more like check the box than zealous representation.
