Lance D. Gill

Attorney Gill deserves the best review for representing me this last year. If this review sways just one person to contact and hire Lance to represent them in their divorce, I will feel like I have given back to society. I read many of other glowing reviews given by his previous clients, and agree ...whole-heartedly with them. I'm a software engineer, and eloquence with words is not my forte, so here it goes: I found attorney Lance Gill at the beginning of 2019 via Avvo. I was impressed with him very quickly. I hired him after my divorce was finalized, and he represented me in a spousal support re-negotiation which should have been an easy case, but it was not so cut and dry. One reason, is that I was switching from unreliable contract work with no benefits to reliable full-time employment with full benefits, but at a decrease in hourly rate. After hiring subpar divorce attorneys during my divorce, Lance Gill was a breath of fresh air. Lance is a straight shooter. He is a complete professional. He told me things I did not want to hear, and set expectations that were realistic, and it meant the outcome would be more of a compromise with my ex-wife than I wanted. Lance was patient and understanding of my situation. He kept our meetings focused on what was pertinent, and he answered all of my questions. My divorce was difficult, and it was drawn out. I only wish Lance had represented me in that case. My previous attorneys were all less skilled, less professional, and in hindsight, were about drawing out my divorce for their own financial benefit and/or due to their lack of knowledge/experience.

Lance Gill is a lawyer who cares about your situation and will not only get you the best outcome possible, but he’ll also become a trusted advisor. I had an unusual divorce situation with huge financial inequity between my wife and myself. The case lasted about 7 months. I told Lance at our very fi...rst meeting that I did not want to be on defense, nor did I want to pay support or give up any assets. He kept that as his priority throughout the entire process, often pushing me to get the information he needed to follow through. This situation was like a chess game – we could not predict the outcome in the beginning, but could only make the best move possible at each juncture. He knew when to wait, and, when necessary, how to be very aggressive to gain an advantage. By the time we came to settlement, Lance had completely turned the tables and had her elite high-priced attorney entirely on defense. In fact, Lance had maneuvered us into a position where she would have to give up far more than I even wanted from her. That’s how good he was! Lance educated me on what the law could and could not do – he properly set my expectations. Then he asked the right questions to accurately understand my situation and my goals, and he never forgot them. He acted as advisor and confidant, keeping me on track when I went off the rails, and keeping me rational at a time when my emotions would surely have led to bad decisions. I could tell from the beginning that Lance actually cared about helping me. He truly cared about my situation and about getting a just outcome for me. Lawyers may have a bad reputation, but that’s not because of Lance Gill. It’s tough to be in a situation that requires a lawyer, because you have to commit yourself and your money to someone you just met. I can tell you, Lance over-delivered. You need to at least have a conversation with Lance Gill before you commit to hiring a lawyer.
