Title Work and Divorce Case; Best Lawyer Hands Down!

Throughout the years Mr. Gill has closed several deals for me and he is THE expert when it comes to title law. He is knowledgeable beyond measure and at each and every closing I've always felt extremely confident with his work. (His title fees are the best in Summit county, too!) Most recently Mr. G...ill spearheaded a divorce case for me and I simply cannot express how wonderful and professional Mr. Gill was throughout my divorce situation. He is without a doubt his clients biggest advocate, is an excellent negotiator, and truly has his clients best interest at the heart of his work. Unlike other Attorneys I've dealt with in the past, Mr. Gill is very communicative and I truly felt like he was fighting for me and not just clicking off minutes to charge. Very, very highly recommend Attorney Lance Gill.

Expert, friendly, economical attorney!

Lance helped me through a very difficult process of handling my late mother's estate. He was helpful on all levels. First, he obtained the fiduciary rights that I needed to begin this journey. Then with helpful guidance, he advised and lead me through the process of setting up an estate account at th...e bank. Everything that is required by the court to proceed legally. He went over and above my expectations by helping me locate helpful people to sell all the estate's assetts. He gave invaluable input as I navigated through the costs associated with managing an estate. I, like most people didn't realize all that is entailed with this journey. Lance is also licenced to do titles and closings on property sold! Of course that was a huge help. I benefited so much by his multiple talents and accreditations to cover such a broad spectrum of legal needs. Amazingly, he does this work quickly, and at a price so reasonable (way below industry's standard) that it was hard to believe. He gave me an upfront flat rate fee, and that's exactly what I paid! Upon completion of all the aforementioned, a friend told me that I did a good job. I immediately told the friend, "thank you....but I had a lot of help from my attorney!" This attorney is so good at his job that he made me look smart! I truly could not have completed this ordeal without his help...I highly recommend Lance D. Gill for your legal needs! Absolute 5 stars.

Fine for real estate closings but not for divorce

As a seasoned real estate broker I have dealt with Lance Gill for many years and sent him most of my my real estate closings; he follows through and is knowledgeable. However, when I retained him to handle my divorce he quoted an upfront flat fee and bailed out when the going got tough. Prior to ac...cepting me as a divorce client he had all the legal documents to review and he personally knew how my spouse's attorney operates, so he fully knew the game before offering his services. Once the opposing attorney started taking up his time he chose to withdraw from the case, and left me with a Motion to Withdraw - available on public record for all to see - whose language implies that I was the problem. I asked him to re-write it to state the real problems as reflecting his current health issues and frustration in dealing with the opposing attorney, which he had repeatedly stated in emails to me, but he refused. He did refund my fees. I would recommend him for procedural matters, but not as a fighter who plans to win, as he gave up as soon as the heat of battle commenced. "Winners never quit; quitters never win" - Vince L, Former Coach of the Green Bay Packers.

Pursuant to my ethical requirements, I withdrew from representing this client because he refused to follow my advice. At every turn in the process, he objected to or refused to participate in well expected matters. For example, when it came to routine discovery requests made by opposing counsel, this client responded that he would not provide the requested documents. This was only one exemple of this client's desire to stonewall the process. He also wanted to engage in endless irrelevant confrontation to no end. This is supported by the fact that opposing counsel filed a motion to compel against this client, who eventually had to provide the discovery requested. It is untrue that I withdrew because the work load was more than expected or because I was unaware of his wife's attorney's tactics as suggested by this client. Opposing counsel did nothing more than any other attorney would have or should have done in representing her client. To suggest that I was the problem in this case flies in the face of the facts. If one reviews the docket for this case, one would see that this client hired another well-seasoned attorney (after my withdrawal) who also withdrew from representing him. This client, per the docket, has now hired his third attorney. Since two divorce attorneys with over 25 years of experience (myself being one) withdrew from representing this client, it is clear that the problem was the client and not the attorneys he hired. I can say when I did work with this individual as a real estate broker he was just as unreasonable and difficult to work with as he was when I tried to represent him in his divorce case. This client's narrative of the situation that led me to withdraw is false. The main problem with this client in all matters is that he believes he is more intelligent than the professionals he hires to represent him. He believes he can simply dictate to everyone including the court what he will and will not do. As the case docket indicates, he learned his lesson very well. I had no choice but to withdraw from representing this client for the reasons contained in my motion to withdraw and as stated above.
