Biography
Kasie is the Managing Attorney of the Juvenile Unit and Chief of the Victim Services Division of the SF District Attorney's Office. She is a Certified Criminal Law Specialist (CA State Bar), a designation held by less than 1% of attorneys in SF, and recognized as an attorney of high legal ability and ethical standards. She is a former Deputy Public Defender of the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office, the largest government defender agency in the United States where she handled complex criminal cases involving serious and violent felonies, life cases, and homicides, and completed dozens of jury trials to verdict and thousands of evidentiary hearings.
Kasie ran a boutique law practice in San Francisco, California, for seven years, focusing exclusively in the areas of criminal defense and juvenile delinquency. Kasie also served on the Bar of San Francisco's Indigent Defense Panel and Juvenile Delinquency Appointments Panel, representing defendants in criminal cases and youth in delinquency cases who are not able to afford their own counsel.
Kasie has also trained other attorneys and criminal defense investigators throughout the state of California on the use of social networking sites and the internet in criminal defense investigation. She served as a legal expert on the topic of juvenile delinquency on AM 1400, Sing Tao Chinese Radio, the largest Chinese radio broadcasting agency in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Kasie is a past president of the Asian Pacific Public Defenders Association of the Greater Los Angeles and Asian American Criminal Trial Lawyers Association of the Greater Bay Area.
