I had the privilege of working with Kali Gardner in a family court case that stemmed from an extensive criminal investigation. The criminal case was well documented in the media so any actions taken during the family court proceedings following the conclusion of the criminal case had the potential o...f being scrutinized. Ms. Gardner was sought out for this task given her experience assisting non-profit agencies and offering her services to domestic abuse victims in need of representation who were experiencing financial challenges. The criminal investigation spanned over two years. Ms. Gardner familiarized herself with the entire criminal case to prepare the best representation for the victim. Several of the parties involved in the investigation had been threatened by the defendant for simply supporting the victim. Despite this, Ms. Gardner welcomed the opportunity to help a victim in obvious need. Ms. Gardner negotiated the victim’s expectations directly with the defendant and obtained a positive outcome for the victim and her children. She displayed poise and professionalism while dealing with a potentially volatile situation. Ms. Gardner demonstrated the empathy and tenacity I would expect if it were my own family member in need. I will continue to send clients to Ms. Gardner knowing they are in competent hands, and I look forward to working with her again in the future.
