My lawyer Jill J. Smith

Jill is the real truth - not your typical layer. When you sit and meet with Jill (doesn't act above you) she will put you at ease and a lot of your stresses will be eliminated once you leave her office. She has studied the mortgage industry thoroughly from many angles and knows exactly what she is... doing. She plans careful strategies for each individual case. Jill has integrity and shows compassion for her clients, she's clear with her fee structure and keeps you in the loop when new things happen in your case. She will tell you the good and the bad and educate you along the journey. For example, I had no idea what MERS was, not a typical discussion for the average homeowner. I understand now that many home owners have been improperly foreclosed on and no one seems to care. If you want to keep our home you've got to make the decision to fight for it. You need good representation to be successful. Jill gives you hope and assures you she will fight for you from the beginning to he end. She won't drop you if things get tough. It's unfortunate you need legal representation to save your home. Many lawyers want to much and do 'nothing' - it's just a pay check for them and they are too expensive for ordinary/middle class people to afford. I've talked and met with a few lawyers and I was the most comfortable with Jill. Once you confirm her representing you she will put on her boxing gloves and step right in to the ring on your behalf. She has no fear of her opponents. I've also learned that most of the mortgage help programs out their are just smoke screens. Organizations are screening folks, going through the motions and in the end the companies get paid and then it's suggested to home owners to sell and just bow out gracefully and go for a new start. Easier said then done. What banks are doing to people is a disgrace. Jill understands this. Excuse my expression here; what the 'big dogs' don't get is this - homes are family history: marriages, births, graduations, celebrations, home goings, efforts it took to purchase homes, memories, sacrifices etc. Jill understands the principals of life and what's important to people. If there were an army of Jills, things would change in the mortgage industry and our economy would get a real boost. If you don't believer me, check her out if you can get in. As I said earlier, she is the truth!

The Best Foreclosure Defense Attorney in Washington and probably the US!

Jill is one of very few attorneys in Washington and from my research the US, that understands the mad and sad science that the banks and their predatory lending products have cost our country so much. Jill stays in the "pit" with her clients, and plans strategically for your case. She will not bac...k down, and adheres to providing the best defense against the egregious conduct of banks, trustee companies, and all entities who are/were involved in strategic foreclosure methods (all planned due to predatory lending) against home owners because of their greed. The home owners, me being one of them, did what was asked of me, and I was totally mislead, lied to, and almost destroyed by these institutions who operate from a position of superiority and their enormous wealth, that we by the way, have helped to make them become so. These institutions think they are untouchable, and what Jill has done for me, is to give me my self worth back and have helped me to see and understand that I too am entitled. I am worthy of having the home I purchased and have given my life's savings to keep. She has given my voice a legal platform, and she stands with me and they now have to listen. They have had to "deal" with me against their will and it has cost them to do so, because they can no longer bully me around according to their will, I am not going away until it is over! Thanks to Jill, she has guided and directed my case in a way that most attorneys won't even touch because they don't think they can win against these institutions, some don't know how to fight them, and quite a few don't have a clue! Jill is not in that catagory. Using the law, she is wiling to stand toe to toe with all they can muster, and use the law for the people, who also have rights. Is it easy, no it isn't, but anything that is your life's mission, is worth fighting for, it is not like we get to come back to this planet for a do over! Justice is not justice unless we stand and fight for it. I am not willing to follow the carrot until it is too late to see that they have led me to a cliff that guarantees I won't be coming back anytime soon! There are very few attorneys who even know what to do, or know how to apply the law in this area of expertise. With Jill, it is not a guessing game, an attorney must know the game and the rules in order to win, and so far, I am winning. No one said justice would be swift, it is taking a while, but well worth it. Jill is willing to go the distance. She takes her work seriously, she cares about her clients because she knows that most of them now have PTSD from the experience, there are internal emotions of highs and lows, because the foreclosure experience is serious and can take the joy out of your life and anyone in it. It wasn't until I left her office after having fought alone for a minimum of 5 years (because I couldn't find an attorney who knew more than I did), that I was able to breathe! I actually remember the moment as if it were yesterday, what she said made sense, she assured me of what I could and could not expect, and she gave me security in knowing that she is in this until the end, and that her knowledge and those of her colleagues were going to be used to the greatest extent to fight for me. She also told me if she didn't think we had a good case, she wouldn't even take it, and would share with me her opinion as to what I should or should not do. However, I knew I had a good case, I was looking for someone who had as much dedication and fortitude as I did against this injustice! Well, Jill was and is, the "it" factor. I appreciate her knowledge, strategy, and patience. There are many steps in this process, not all of the judges know about this area of expertise, you can't count on all rulings to be right, you just have to stay in the fight! Jill will stay in the fight with you, so that for you and those coming afterwards have hope, right can win! "Never, never, never, quit!" Quote by Winston Churchill

A Lawyer in Washington State who gets it.

Jill is one of only a handful of attorneys in Washington state willing to take on the mortgage banking industry and go the distance for homeowners. She is currently handling my case and has exceeded my expectations as to her knowledge and understanding of the fraud that has been perpetrated on homeow...ners in regards to the mortgage backed securities industry (aka derivatives)

Bogus

Very supporting about my issues then does nothing but act like a nine year old brat. Promised for months that a para-legal would call. Finally had another attorney discuss case because she was too busy and I bothered her by inquiring every couple months about status. He quit her the next day, so now ...she was handicapped and filed in wrong court and failed to follow through with any of the information which I accurately gave her and watched her take notes on. Knew nothing, then throws a tantrum when reads the disappointment on my face. I HAVE seen 7 year olds act with more composure in court. Her process server boyfriend and herself were evasive and misleading. She demanded more money before presenting the case and has never returned any, or my documents where she retained originals. You will be taken with her sales job that emphasizes and supports your position. SHE will be your savior before she turns on you after draining the maximum she can from your wallet, all under last minute dead-line pressure. Then it is YOUR fault as the drunken child comes out. A complete incompetent. A waste of thousands of dollars charged and thousands more a competent should have been able to acquire from defendant in short time, before statute of limitations expires.

Former trial lawyer's Review of Jill Smith

I came to know Ms. Smith through a blog of former trial lawyers, lawyers, uber paralegals working in the "foreclosure defense" field of law as it has come to be known in the last few years. I have almost 30 years of high end trial experience myself so I know when I am talking to a good lawyer and s...omeone who knows what they are doing. Jill does. I have worked with her on case in the foreclosure area which is an area of the law which is changing and developing on daily basis. There are numerous theories depending on jurisdiction (state or fed and the particular state), whether the case is in pre foreclosure, the client is in bankruptcy, a loan mod is being sought, or the client is actually in foreclosure. The area is very very complex procedurally as well as with cases that are coming out on a daily basis. Jill is knowledgeable and works with those of us on the blog to keep knowledgeable and help her with the latest position that should be taken for her client(s). She is good tactically, she writes well, and she understands the issues--and not many lawyers do, I assure you.
