also known as Jay
Jason ("Jay") Nohr has over 30 years of civil litigaiton experience with a history of achieving successful results for his clients through jury trials, settlements, and appellate advocacy. Jay accepts a limited number of cases and provides individual attention to each of his clients to ensure their cases receive the attention to detail necessary for successful resolution through settlement or trial. Martindale-Hubbell has awarded Jay with its AV® Preeminent™ rating, the highest peer-review rating available, identifying a lawyer with very high to preeminent legal ability, expertise, experience, integrity and overall professional excellence.
Jay is honorted to be appointed by federal judges as a Receiver in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia for cases involving securities fraud and Ponzi-type schemes upon the recommendation of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC"). Serving as both both Receiver and lead trial and appellate counsel in "claw back" actions filed in federal courts acrosse the country, Jay has sucessfullly recovered millions of dollars of assets on behalf of defrauded investors victimized by various types of fraud, misconduct, and Ponzi schemes. In addition to serving as lead trial counsel in receivership litigation, Jay oversees the return of these recovered assets directly to defrauded investors through an administrative claims process in the Receivership Court.
Jay is also an accomplished appellate advocate who has succeeded for his clients in the state and federal appellate courts of Georgia and is licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court. In the first appellate case in Georgia to address nursing home arbitration agreements, Jay defeated a nursing home’s efforts to force the case to arbitration. After winning in the trial court, Jay convinced the Georgia Court of Appeals to broaden the trial court's favorable ruling on appeal to help preserve the right to a jury trial for all Georgia nursing home residents and their families. See Ashburn Health Care Center Inc. v. Poole, 286 Ga. App. 24, 648 S.E.2d 430 (2007).
Jay is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, all United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and all Georgia trial Courts. In his capacity as a court appointed receiver, he has litigated in federal courts throughout the country.
Jay previously served as the President of CLAWS, an anti-human trafficking non-profit organization that uses the civil justice system to combat human trafficking. In 2018, Jay was appointed as a Cobb County Special Assistant District Attorney to represent the State of Georgia in a groundbreaking legal action that made successful and novel use of Georgia's nuisance laws to hold accountable an area hotel notorious for allowing human trafficking on its premises. The successful resolution of this novel action and the media coverage it received will deter other hotels from allowing human trafficking activities on their property and serve as a model for additional legal actions against those that do.
Jay is a frequent presenter at legal seminars and continuing education classes on all of these topics and is a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Cobb County Bar Association, and the Cobb County Trial Lawyers Association, serving as its President in 2007 and 2008.

In June of 2017 my husband and I found ourselves engulfed in our worst nightmare. My 6 month old son had been throwing up for a week and after 4 ER visits it was determined that he had a subdural hematoma…AKA bleeding in the brain. A Great Attorney!!!
After being turned down by the Cochran Firm because they said we did not have a case, my wife and I contacted Jason Norh. . . Jason Nohr handled a medical malpractice/wrongful death case for my wife and I. Jason Nohr is very knowledgeable! Almost everything that Jason predicted would happen event...
"I have had the opportunity to have lengthy, in-depth conversations with Jay about personal injury suits in general, medical malpractice, and birth trauma. I have also been able to hear Jay speak at CLEs. His knowledge of the law and the medicine is second to none. Jay Nohr is one of the few lawyers who is willing to try cases to verdict, and he has had incredible results. If you are looking for a personal injury lawyer or one that has had success in medical malpractice cases, then I would look no further than Jay."
"I used to work with Jay and still consult with him on complex medical malpractice and personal injury cases. Jay is very detail-oriented and thorough in his approach to his cases, which is why I always like to get his thoughts and opinions on complicated fact patterns. Jay is well-respected by both plaintiffs' and defense lawyers, and is known for his aggressive representation of his clients. I give him my full recommendation."
