Worst Attorney in the DFW...

This attorney pretty much told me that everything I was requesting was possible. Once we got to court I didn't have a fair trial, her court room performance was terrible and no supporting documentation or evidence was presented in my defense. Piss Poor Performance. Also, credit was given for previo...us child care expenses, etc. Another attorney was hired and everything requested was enforced.

I never represented this person and I do not know why this post is here. I believe that there is a flaw in this system which allows false reporting and I hope that Avvo will make strides to correct this issue. I am not the only attorney who has been affected by this type of posting. Thank you.

Not right for my case...

Ms.Mapes I assume would be great in a completely cordial case. However mine was not. And as it became evident that my spouse was unwilling to bend, I felt, Jane just gave in. I am in NY. When they sent another attorney I was not surprised at all as this was in another county and Ms.Mapes sai...d she didn't know the judge. When that went awful and I complained about the attorney. Ms.Mapes assured me she would represent me in the future. As it appeared the case would have to go to trial, she recommended I use a different attorney. When I spoke to another attorney he said it was a good thing i didn't just sign at mediation and deal with things later on (which Ms.Mapes suggested). I am on disability as I was diagnosed with MS in '05 and I feel that was never taken into account as Jane said I'll be indoor for visits. Anybody how's knows MS knows that's laughable . This was a rough case for sure for Jane. If you have any chance of that. I suggest going else where. This firm I feel was to big to give my situation the unique attention it needed. Jane is a lovely person and I'm not taking that away from her. Just know I could have yused this information beforehand. So I firuged I'd write it for others. God bless!

Child support / visitation

I hired Mrs. Mapes to help me with getting child support increase and visitation changed. I was referred by some one who had used her before. Mrs. Mapes was very helpful and attentive. She seemed to really care for what my children needed. She was very available and did an excellent job. She underst...ands the "legal" system. She was great ! I will use her again and refer others to her.

Perfect attorney for a divorce.

Jane is an experienced family law attorney who navigated me through the legal process. She was responsive to my questions, always returning my phone calls. I felt like I was in great hands with Jane.
