Biography
I am a trial lawyer in Phoenix, Arizona. I handle a wide variety of cases. If it is a case that speaks to justice, I'll consider it. My goal as a lawyer is to help clients navigate their challenges in a way that minimizes costs and gives them the best chance of getting a postive outcome. Often, the first question I will ask a client is, "What are your goals in all of this?" I believe that our communication as lawyer-client is very, very important. I prepare all my cases as if they are going to trial. That way, we operate from the most informed position.
I grew up in Phoenix in the late 70s and 80s. I went to Brophy and then Yale and finally Northwestern School of Law in Chicago. I love Phoenix, even if it's gotten too big. 1.0 star Posted by Barry May 30, 2018 Mr Hannel represented me in a medical malpractice/medical battery case. Because of his failure to call the defendant as a plaintiff's witness and allow the court to hear our evidence of his unethical behavior, our claim for punitive damages was dismissed ...

Replied last August 07, 2019Mr. Gendelman rejected a neutral mediator's assessment that his chances of prevailing in court were "zero." He rejected my advice towards opening statement and jury selection feeling he knew better. He decided to give his own closing argument--a first for the judge in a non-criminal case--against my advice and the judge's warnings. The jury did not find Mr. Gendelman's testimony credible and found for the defendant. The system worked as it should and although it is never perfect, I am glad Mr. Gendelman had his moment to show himself and his case to an Arizona jury, which found against him. I am proud of our Arizona jury system, warts and all.
