Francis E Waliczek

Francis (Frank) E. Waliczek is a specialist in international wildlife law, and in environmental law and policy. He advises public and private entities on wildlife and environmental topics such as the U.S. public response to the Covid-19 crisis, and the prevention of future outbreaks through improved legal approaches to the natural world.

Mr. Waliczek handles a wide range of other legal matters, including sensitive issues of alleged international and domestic corruption, highly complex international estate and trust issues, and World Bank and International Monetary Fund employment disputes.

Mr. Waliczek is a former Editor-in-Chief of the American University International Law Review, where he managed a staff of nearly 60 law students at the 2L, 3L and LL.M. levels. He also served as Editor-at-Large for the National Security Law Brief, Co-President of the WCL Animal Law Society, and Co-President for the WCL Environmental Law Society

During his law studies, Mr. Waliczek served as a Legal Intern for the National Geographic Society (2018) and Defenders of Wildlife (2019). He was a Research Assistant to Prof. David B. Hunter in the preparation of the latter’s book, Advocating Social Change Through International Law: Exploring the Choice Between Hard and Soft International Law. In 2019, Mr. Waliczek attended and advocated for the conservation of multiple species at the 18th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) in Geneva.

Mr. Waliczek is a native of Illinois and Texas, and in college was a NCAA-D1 pitcher for the Dons of the University of San Francisco, where he set a school record for most appearances on the mound. Mr. Waliczek joined the Law Offices as a Law Clerk in January 2020, and was subsequently welcomed by acclamation as Counsel in January 2021 upon his admission to the D.C. Bar.
