Horrible Experience

Everything was handled when I filed for my BK. Later on when I had questions his entire staff (or the same woman who answers the phone) was not only rude and short but highly disrespectful in her tone. So once you file apparently you can no longer ask a question or speak to Robert because he will tel...l you to contact the BK trustee or find another attorney.

I Would HIGHLY Recommend This Attorney

I am an attorney in New York City with clients in various states, including California and Florida. I was introduced to Mr. Wilcox a number of years ago, and have used him for various bankruptcies and corporate reorganization matters. Mr. Wilcox knowledge of the UCC and federal bankruptcy code is e...xcellent (and I started my career in the bankruptcy department of a Wall Street firm), and I always have found Mr. Wilcox to have excellent instincts when we had to prepare trial and negotiation strategies. At all times, his performance was superb. In one particular instance, my client was prepared to settle a preference action for $150,000 to $200,000, and Mr. Wilcox, who was fully prepared to "do battle" and using his negotiating prowess, conviinced the counsel for the bankruptcy trustee to accept $7,000. It also was of enormous advantage that he is admitted to practice in Delaware, where my clients (as creditors) were involved in various bankruptcy proceedings. Mr. Wilcox also has been quite generous is providing consultations to my clients as a courtesy to me (i.e. without charging the client). Only the directions governing these reviews prevents me from providing my full name and contact information, because I would be happy to provide specifics. I am aware that there is a less-than-complimentary review of Mr. Wilcox, but that hardly is my experience. I have worked with him over the years on over a half dozen major cases which, in toto, involved millions of dollars in claims, and I wouldn't hesitate one moment to involve him in any future corporate-commercial-bankruptcy matters.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
