Divorce is never easy. Because of the added emotional strain, it can be difficult to make good decisions. One of the best decisions that I have ever made in my life was to hire Ms. Douglas. She was reasonable, honest, fair and very professional. I was never in the dark as to the process, as she commu...nicated with me regularly. Any questions I had were answered truthfully. Nothing was sugarcoated but I always felt that I was a real person not merely a client who was paying her. She was able to negotiate a fair settlement and most importantly, help me to gain joint custody of my daughter. I remember leaving court that day thinking that I hope I don't EVER need a divorce lawyer again, but if I do or any of my friends do, I know who I will call: Chevelle Douglas.

I wont go into all the specifics regarding my case due to sensitive information. However, this may have been the worst person I've encountered within the last five years regarding handling business. A retainer was required prior to hiring her for services that will be used. I already had a portfolio ...of material evidence in addition a back up digital version on a USB drive. Ms. Douglas was inexperienced due to the fact I will ask detail questions that require a response. Thus. after a 72 hour window, the questions still remained unanswered at times contacting her through e-mail or online portal since conversing on the phone is billed as "consulting sessions." On my court date, my legal representation was late to being present in court which was very disappointing in addition to unprofessional. Paperwork for file which was vital to my case was submitted and filed to the wrong county instead of the county in which my son's mother resides. The response she provided the judge before his ruling was poor execution and she didn't perform to the best ability that she previously mentioned which she assured me a few months earlier. Overall, the game plan I had worked so hard to devise and implement merely crumbled to pieces in my hand figuratively speaking. I had means to fir her and no longer use her services, but she quit by sending paperwork to Newton County Superior court which stated that she has withdrawn as my attorney. I later reported her to the State Bar of Georgia to file a complaint and request a full refund.
