Fort Worth Bankruptcy Lawyer Carey Ebert has a passionate belief in the rights of individuals with financial problems, and has built her career around her commitment to preserve the right of individuals to get a fresh financial start.

Fort Worth Bankruptcy Lawyer Carey attended Newcomb College at Tulane University in New Orleans where she graduated cum laude with honors in Public Policy. She then attended the Texas Tech School of Law in Lubbock, from which she graduated in 1985 with Board of Barrister honors. She was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1985, and to the US District Court in the Northern District of Texas in 1986.

Her practice is 100% consumer and small business bankruptcy law.

She has been an active leader among her peers both locally and nationally. Fort Worth Bankruptcy Lawyer Carey Ebert is President Emeritus of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA), an organization of 4000 bankruptcy attorneys across the nation.

She has served as President of the Northeast Tarrant County Bar Association in 1998-99.

Fort Worth Bankruptcy Lawyer Carey Ebert has been quoted in many newspaper articles around the country including:

  • U.S. News and World Report
  • Fort Worth Star-Telegram
  • Dallas Morning News
  • Fort Worth Business Press

Through her role as a NACBA Board member, she has aggressively fought against the erosion of the right to bankruptcy guaranteed by the US Constitution. “I think this is very important,” she comments. “Each year since 1996 Congress has considered laws which would make it harder for individuals to achieve bankruptcy protection. I am proud that NACBA has led the fight to keep important personal rights in place.”

Fort Worth Bankruptcy Lawyer Carey has lectured at seminars on Basic Bankruptcy Litigation and Bankruptcy Attorney Fees to other bankruptcy attorneys through her association with NACBA.

Fort Worth Bankruptcy Lawyer Carey Ebert has been a frequent lecturer at numerous prestigious programs throughout the United States.

Carey has presented papers at SEBLI (Southeastern Bankruptcy Law Institute) in 2005, 2007, and 2009 on Means testing and Defining Motion to Dismiss under 707(b)(2)&(3) as it pertains to bankruptcy.

She has participated in panels at the University of Texas Galveston Bankruptcy Law Program in 2011 and has been on the faculty at the State Bar of Texas Advanced Consumer Bankruptcy Program in 2007 and the 2010 Bench Bar Conference for the Northern District of Texas.

Carey has also been a panelist at every NACBA Conference since 1998.

Best Experience for the circumstance
My Wife and I had multiple bad experiences which cost us non refunded money with other law firms in the area, in which they just couldn't help us with no effort on their part. We got referred to David and Carey Ebert and it was the BEST thing that could have happened. The entire staff ( Michelle, Suzanne, David, Carey) are the most professional and knowledgeable group I have ever seen. From the first consult, I was made to relax in a situation were you feel like you failed. You are not treated like a bad or failure by anyone here. They explain openly and completely each step, they communicate each step. You need anything you email or call and they respond in a timely manner. The 341 meeting was great, Carey explained prior to the meeting that day how she and the trustee would conduct the meeting and that she was there for you. It was the fastest maybe 10 minutes for us. We would definitely tell anyone that needs Professional, Knowledgeable, in your corner Attorneys. The EBERT LAW FIRM is the only firm I would Trust. P.S. - You have to put in 150% effort and you will get the same in return. Honesty, openness, complete transparency into your life, finances, assets, etc. This will only allow The Ebert's and Team to do the best for you.

Extra mile
Thank you so much for making what was to me a very stressful situation. I was made to feel at ease and all my questions were answered fully and she made sure I completely understood and was comfortable with the answers.

Very Satisfied with my Attorney
Our meetings with both David and Carey Ebert were the most reassuring. They so obviously know the law and radiate confidence, ability and willingness to help us get our lives back.

Exceptional bankruptcy attorney
I hired the Ebert law firm for my wife and I's bankruptcy and was fortunate to have Carey Ebert represent us at our 341 meeting for our chapter 7. We were amazed at how well she handled the opposing attorney, which was the trustee in our case. After watching other attorneys and clients go before our turn, we were pretty nervous watching their attorney fumble through their file . Ms. Ebert was beyond prepared and professional and before we got comfortable in our chairs, the hearing was over and our debts were discharged. Great law firm, great staff, exceptional attorney.
