Brendan R. Daugherty

I came to meet Brendan R. Daugherty by recommendation from another lawyer based on my situation. I purchased a used vehicle from a dealership in another state, and later purchased a 3rd party warranty contract in the hopes of having the vehicle protected. Eventually, a situation to use the covera...ge of my 3rd party warranty presented itself when the vehicle broke down. The situation was pretty unique, it was a used vehicle that had never given me any problems prior to breaking down, no check engine lights, no warning lights, no visual, audible, olfactible or tangible signs of a problem, and in being faithful to the contract of the 3rd party warranty, I always kept up with general & preventative maintenance. Even with all of this, the vehicle broke down, & upon diagnosis of the vehicle at the repair shop it was determined that a mechanical part had failed, causing the engine to be starved of oil, however, the oil did not leak where it could be seen visibly by me or the service technician. Further diagnosis showed the oil was sent in other components of the engine (Intercooler and piping) and not back into the engine as it should have been. When the diagnosis was presented to the 3rd party warranty company, they denied me of coverage stating it was based on my neglect, but they had no evidence to prove this, and I had receipts showing I maintained the vehicle accordingly. In coming to Brendan R. Daugherty with this situation, he did not turn me away. He admitted it is a case he had not experienced before, but remained open to helping me or sending me in the direction that would get me results. He listened to my situation, and asked questions to better understand my case and took time going over my contract with the 3rd party warranty company. Once Brendan had all the information he needed, he explained to me the steps he would take to assist in my case and always kept in contact with me and would notify me in a timely fashion if there were any updates or changes. Brendan was able to reach out to the 3rd party warranty company and communicate my stance in the situation to them and worked to reach a resolution. He even encouraged the service technician who diagnosed the vehicle to consider getting involved with a written opinion of the vehicle diagnosis. The service technician did assist and provided written statement which gave a strong backbone to my case which Brendan presented accordingly to the 3rd party warranty company. In the end, the 3rd party warranty company agreed to covering my repair and my vehicle got a new engine and was back on the road again. Brendan R. Daugherty is actually the first lawyer I have ever worked with. He truly made a good first impression on what it is like to have a courteous, genuine and truly supportive lawyer working hard for you and helping to get the results you desire as an individual. In my particular case I strongly believe I made a good decision in working with Brendan and would certainly recommend him to others. He assisted me on something he had not experienced before, and even with that, he went above and beyond and helped me to resolve my situation.
