attorney for me and my brother years ago!

She was a very great attorney when mine and my brothers attorneys changed constantly she was appointed to our case and stuck by us every step of the way. I am very grateful for everything she did for us.

Recommending Attorney Amina Merritt without reservation

Ms. Merritt extended herself in a timely fashion to our emergency situation and effected the procuring of the safety and responsible guardianship of the minor at risk, our grandson. Time and again she went above and beyond ordinary service expectations to assure a good outcome to our case.

Outstanding Legal Help and Reassuring Emotional Support

My husband and I retained Ms Merritt to help us gain custody of our grandson. She provided us with excellent legal advice and handled our case very competently. She went out of her way to meet our grandson and reassure him during a time when he was frightened and confused. Her calm, compassionate d...emeanor with us guided us through unfamiliar legal terrain and provided us with reassurance and hope during an upsetting and confusing time. Thanks to her skill, knowledge and resourcefulness, we gained custody of our grandson and removed him from an abusive situation. I would highly recommend Ms. Merritt as a skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate advocate.

"I endorse this lawyer. I was friends with Amina in law school and have seen how committed she is as a lawyer to helping families with juvenile dependency issues reunite and move forward with their lives. This is a very challenging area of the law with somewhat limited rewards. She deserves a great deal of respect for the work she does."

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"An excellent attorney. I have worked with Ms. Merritt for many years. We often opposed each other and often worked together during her tenure as a Sacramento Child Advocate attorney. She eventually became acting Executive Director of that agency and currently manages her own successful practice. She is a strong advocate for her clients and is always fiercely prepared in her legal arguments."

  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
