Allysyn first became interested in family law when she was a high school English teacher. She was moved by the stories and struggles of her students going through tough times at home. She wanted to make a difference on a legal level. When her father passed away at the age of 50, Allysyn had to work closely with his estate planning attorney to settle his estate. This added to her interest in the law and her wanting to help families similarly to how her father's attorney had helped her. While attending Indiana University School of Law, other topics piqued her interest, such as the rights of LGBTQ members, and general litigation issues. She volunteered for the law school's civil clinic representing clients going through divorce, guardianships, and custody issues, volunteered for Indianapolis’s domestic violence prevention program, was Secretary then President of Lambda Legal, and Vice President then President of the Feminist Law Society, advocating through education for advancing the rights of the lgbt community and for gender equality in the Indianapolis community. She also spent her summers studying law in Croatia and China.
After law school, Allysyn moved to California and, under the guidance of several seasoned attorneys, opened her family law practice, where she feels fortunate to have been representing members of her community. For the first seven years of her career, Allysyn also worked with the Sargent Shriver Custody Program, representing clients in their child custody and visitation cases. Allysyn continues to use her love of teaching to help educate her clients about their rights and legal options, and how to use the law, so her clients feel informed as they move through what can be an emotional and confusing time. In this way, her clients see her not only as their legal advocate, but as an educator.
Allysyn has been publically recognized by the BAR Association of San Francisco as going above and beyond for parties who were not expected to win their cases, and has been awarded for being an “outstanding volunteer” for the Justice and Diversity Center.
In her spare time, Allysyn enjoys making jewelry, camping, reading, writing, and exploring the Bay Area with her partner and baby.

My greatest regret is hiring Allysyn Overton now at Wade Litigation. Valid questions often went unanswered, and when I did receive replies, they were unfocused and did not address the issues at hand. Important deadlines were repeatedly missed, creating unnecessary opportunities for the opposing couns...

I had a pit in my stomach after consulting with Mrs. Overton. She acted sweet but my gut was telling me something was wrong. She reminded me of one of those psychics who says multiple things until one resonates with you so she can try to prey on that. I did further research and boy oh boy am I glad I...

The consult had so many red flags. What should have been a simple matter to explain went in one ear and out the other. She kept repeating questions and getting things wrong, rushed forward with talking way too much, and even wanted to argue if I could get a word in to correct errors she had glossed o...
